From the Bristol Yachts Brochure
Performance:
Sensational! Ted Hoods design staff and Bristol Yachts craftsmen have helped define the term Cruiser-Racer. The 41.1 gets top performance from features like a medium displacement keel-centerboard design (for favorable wetted surface to displacement ratio), a fine entry (for good upwind performance), powerful aft sections (for added stability and good speed off the wind), and a partailly skeg hung rudder. The best proof of performance is to sail and feel the sensation of the Bristol 41.1.
Interior Elegance:
Bristols superb attention to detail is prevalent in the 41.1. The all wood interior is both spacious and luxuriously appointed with generous use of teak and/or Honduras Mahogany which complements both the high quality standard equipment and beautiful (optional) furniture. Cruising Comfort is enhanced by the privacy of two separate staterooms (each with its own head and shower). This shallow-draft centerboard yacht draws 4 6(CB up) or 10 0(CB down).
Hull & Deck:
Molded high-impact fiberglass reinforced polyester resin largely woven roving, strongest material available. Hull and deck thicknesses vary to suit structural demands. Deckhouse, deck and cockpit are integrally molded. Deck clamp and cove stripe molded with hull. Deck layout reflects careful planning. opening hatch forward is large enough to permit handling sail bags. Molded sea hood is standard and molded rail from sea hood aft is prefect mount for dodger. All rails, coaming covers and trim are teak furnished natural sealed or varnished (optional).
Forward Cabin:
The V-berth arrangement; with its elegant hand-crafted closets, drawers and berths; epitomizes the quality workmanship Bristol has built its reputation on. Theres separate access to the head with hot and cold pressure water and a shower as well.
Main Salon:
Attention to detail is especially noticeable in the large main salon area. Ample room for lounging and the L-shaped dinette make it an ideal social setting... a beautiful finish of teak and/or varnished, hand rubbed mahogany provide the type of accommodations one comes to expect from a Bristol.
Aft Cabin:
A large private bunk; and a private head with shower (hot and cold pressure water) this handsomely designed area should please the discerning skipper. Theres also a hanging locker and plenty of storage space to keep things shipshape.
Galley:
The spacious and efficient galley is thoroughly equipped for your cruising needs. Stainless steel icebox, 12V Adler Barbour refrigeration, hot and cold pressure water, deep sinks and 3 burner propane stove with oven are standard equipment. Combine these features with the large counter surfaces and storage drawers and this galley should keep the cook happy.
Interior AccommodationGoing below from the aft cockpit, you find yourself in a museum-quality yacht interior. All aspects of the interior appear "as new". The galley is immediately outboard to starboard as you descend the companionway steps. The double stainless steel sink is near centerline for easy draining on both tacks. There are custom fish and sail themed artisan tiles behind the sink. A beautiful detail. The Tasco three-burner propane stove with oven is outboard to starboard. The deep refrigerator box with Adler Barbour DC refrigeration is under the countertop aft of the stove. Storage abounds.
In front of the galley is the aft facing nav station. This was a special request of the owner to allow visual contact with the helms-person from the nav station. Electrical distribution panel, battery switches, Garmin plotter, VHF with DSC, Raymarine multi-display. Chart storage under the hinged chart table.
To port across from the galley is the aft guest stateroom. It is a private space with a large double berth, opening portlight and overhead hatch, cabinets and drawers. There is engine access via a hinge-opening door (front of engine) and side access to the engine.
The aft head is to port just forward of the guest stateroom. This head functions as day head and guest head. Sink with pull out shower faucet, mirror, manual toilet, plenty of storage, shower sump in the sole.
Moving forward you enter the main saloon with an inviting and sizable U-shaped settee to port and a straight settee to starboard. The drop leaf table is on centerline in between. Cutlery and bottle storage is located in the table accessible via lift out top. The port side settee pulls out to a large double berth. The starboard settee pulls out to an enlarged single. There is storage under the starboard settee and lockers outboard and behind both settees. The storage in the saloon alone would swallow the cruising gear of a lengthy family cruise.
In front of the starboard settee is a counter / bar area with drawers under and hanging locker outboard.
Across to port is the forward / owners head. A larger space than the aft head, this head features the classic Bristol oval-wood-framed mirror, opening portlight, door access from the saloon or from the forward owner's stateroom, sink, manual head and separate shower controls with hand held shower. There is a shower sump under the sole.
Furthest forward is the owner's stateroom with queen sized bed. The small settee to starboard can be covered with the removable insert to increase the size of the bed, or left as a settee when the bed is not made. There is storage above and outboard of the bed. There are drawers and a hanging locker to stbd.
On DeckThe deck and cockpit of Bora Bora exudes comfort and usability while also nodding to the power and performance of boat.
Starting aft, there is a boarding gate in the pushpit allowing easy entry from the folding swim ladder. There is a self contained hydraulic backstay adjuster. The helm seat flips up accessing the steering gear and the lazarette. Under the port side of the helm seat is propane storage.
The helm is a wood-rimmed destroyer type wheel. Ritchie compass on an Edson pedestal. There is a wood drink holder and factory-original Bristol fold-down table on the front of the pedestal.
The port cockpit seat has shallow storage under, perfect for drop boards. The starboard cockpit seat has a massive storage lazarette that extends all the way aft to the transom. There is also side engine access in the starboard lazarette.
There are Lewmar 55 two-speed primary winches on the cockpit coamings with coaming pockets beneath. On the cabin top under the dodger are a dedicated centerboard winch and a Lewmar 43 mainsheet winch. The mainsheet traveler is in front of the dodger spanning the house top. There is a Furuno radar in a varnished wood box to port under the dodger. Slightly to starboard over the companionway are 3x Raymarine sailing instruments (Depth, Apparent Wind, Speed) and 2x Jensen speakers.
Moving forward out of the cockpit you notice the teak decks and find inboard stainless steel jib tracks as well as outboard tracks on the toe rail. Exquisite Bristol wood work abounds (toe rails, house top hand rails, eye brows, dorade boxes). Varnish is applied annually.
The standing rigging has been converted to rod. Running rigging is replaced as needed. The mast has two halyard winches, plus reefing equipment on the boom for the traditional main sail (not a roller furling main).
There is storage for the extendable whisker pole on the port side in chocks. There is a protected fresh water spigot on the stbd side for anchor and deck wash. There is a recently refurbished Ideal electric windlass which makes easy work of the 200 feet of chain anchor rode and galvanized Bruce anchor. There is a Schaeffer roller furler for the genoa.
