Accommodations
Mekia hast two private staterooms with ensuite heads. The forward stateroom has a large double V-berth with chest of drawers and two large hanging lockers providing excellent storage. To port is a head with an antique white countertop trimmed in teak. Throughout the sole and shower there is blue and white tile. Shower sump pumps have been rebuilt and new strainers installed.
The Master stateroom has a centerline queen berth with custom innerspring mattress. Large cedar-lined hanging locker and lots of drawer storage. There are 5 opening S/S ports and a large deck hatch to provide tons of light and ventilation. Owner ensuite head has a separate stall shower, abundant storage, antique white countertops and blue & white tile sole.
The main salon is open, pleasant and bright. A large settee to starboard and an L-shaped dinette to port which converts to a large double berth if needed and bottle storage in table center. Book shelves and storage are above the dinette and settee. There is also an entertainment center with a stand and connections for a 21" flat screen TV that is stored in brackets aft, stereo and a custom bar with separate freezer/ice maker. Complete interior teak varnish was re-done including the cabin sole (teak and holly), table and the companion steps. All interior lights have been replaced, excluding forward head and galley lights. To keep the interior pleasant it has reversed cycle heat and A/C.
A large, custom, forward facing Nav Station is in the walk through to the aft stateroom. All Nav equipment is attractively flush mounted along with a large chart table and storage area. This passageway to the owner's aft stateroom provides expansive access to the machinery behind removable insulated doors.

Hull and DeckThe hand laid fiberglass hull is white (Awlgrip '02) with gold cove stripe and double blue boot top. Her bottom and exterior (topsides,coach roof & cockpit) are also Awlgrip white ('02). Below water line has been stripped, epoxy coated and bottom sprayed painted with Micron CSC. She has new (2003) TDS teak decks. Her mast was stripped and re-painted Awlgrip Whisper Gray (2002). Mekia has a higher flared toe rail, midship cleats, 30 inch high stanchions and four teak dorade boxes with S/S cowl vents and S/S guards over the cowls.
She has internal ballast and a fiberglass centerboard with lead ballast. All deck hardware, including windlass were rechromed 2000.
Many deck upgrades/replacements were done in 2002, including mast lights, wires, main halyard, spinnlock stoppers, mast cleats, new mast step, Schaefer 3100 Furler w/ new headstay, furling line and blocks, Sailtec-17 backstay adjustor w/ failsafe turnbuckle, spinnaker pole storage and inboard end control lines. All fuel tanks (4), dock lines and fenders were replaced in 2002.
In 2003 all port and hatches were replaced with Mainship stainless components. Genoa tracks and adjustable cars replaced with Harken adjustable cars and all deck cleats and fills replaced and the Ideal windless was rebuilt by the manufacturer. Bow and stern lights were replaced along with new wiring. Topsides canvas covers include: dorades boxes, windless, winch covers, wheel and pedestal cover, leather on dodger and wheel, replaced in 2003.
