OVERVIEW
The C&C 38 MKIII is a molded fiberglass, cored hull and deck with molded non skid. It has an inner pan and overhead liners. Teak veneer bulkheads are taped to the hull. The deck joint is through bolted to the hull with aluminum toe rails and teak trim. The under-body has a lead, bolt on ballast keel / centerboard configuration with a fiberglass centerboard and balanced fiberglass rudder.
This C&C 38 MK III is a CENTERBOARD MODEL ENABLING SAILING FLEXIBILITY IN SHALLOW AND DEEP WATERS !!
The deck layout provides for a traditional raised deckhouse with a self bailing aft-cockpit. There are three deck hatches and the companionway hatch.
The main-sheet traveler is on the cockpit bridge for ease of access.
"Shearwater" has been lovingly maintained and sailed.for both cruising and racing.
She has cruised from Florida to Maine and Belize as well as many times to the Bahamas and Exhumas as well as up and down the Florida west coast.
She has competed in Abaco Raceweek, raced to Isla Mujeres and has successfully competed in events on Sarasota Bay.
