Accommodations
Looking forward there is a V-berth with filler, access to the chain locker in the forepeak, outboard storage shelves, and storage lockers under. Immediately aft to port is the head with a large separate shower stall, marine head with Y-valve, macerator, holding tank, vanity with mirror, sink and hot/cold pressure water.
To starboard of the head is a teak hanging locker and storage cabinets. The main saloon is amidships with large outboard storage shelves, a fore-and-aft settee to starboard, an L-shaped settee to port, and a fold down teak table on centerline. Rag Doll features a custom built storage locker with teak & & cane sliding doors abaft the starboard settee.
To starboard of the companionway is a large forward-facing navigation station with chart storage under and a quarter berth aft. Directly to port is a U-shaped galley. The cabin has approximately 6'3" standing headroom, and is appointed with solid teak cabinetry, teak ceiling, and teak veneer bulkheads that are glassed to the hull. Ventilation is excellent with: 5 stainless steel ports (new in '02)
All V-berth, saloon and quarter berth cushions are in good condition.
Hull and Deck The Morgan 383 is a refinement of the highly successful Ted Brewer 382 with a taller rig. She has a modified fin keel (5? shoal draft) with a skeg-hung rudder. Her hull is teardrop-shaped with a wide beam, discreet reverse transom, long overhangs, and six-inch (6?) bulwarks running fore and aft; to which, double SS stanchions are attached with lifelines. From the waterline down she is solid fiberglass and her topsides and deck are cored with synthetic foam. All deck drains connect to a PVC tube that runs across the boat aft and under the cockpit. The original holding tank is located in the aft keel cavity.
