Accommodations
A very highly finished interior by the renowned shop of French & Webb. Accommodates up to six in a "Herreshoff" style with extensive varnished mahogany and teak joiner work on white bulkheads and a varnished bamboo sole. Please note the layout drawing differs slightly form the actual boat in that there is no 2nd toilet or sink fwd. The entire interior is new as the boat was "gutted" at the start of the '02 thru '05 re-fit, this includes all of the bulkheads, floor timbers cabin sole joiner work literally everything save some door panels etc. While duplicating the original interior in general the new interior is more exquisetly crafted with finer more detailed moldings than done by the builders yard. Abundant natural light and ventilation with 10 large opening ports and one fixed port, 2 large hatches, 2 companionways, and three dorades. All opening hatches and ports have screens. Equally generous is the artificial light with swivel style reading lamps at each berth and settee and several overhead dome style lamps throughout. Some overhead lights are fitted with a "day/night" switch providing softer red lighting to save night vision when ducking below at night.
Starting forward is the Forward Stateroom featuring a 6'-6" V-berth with filler below which there is bin type storage and storage in drop face lockers aft. A dressing seat with storage under is below the V-filler. Above the berth the hull is lined with varnished pine ceilings and there is a full length varnished mahogany storage shelf. Aft of the berth to port are inboard and outboard lockers and to starboard is a large hanging locker.
Next aft is the Main Salon with U shaped dinette to port. The dinette can be made down into a double berth and has bin type storage under, additional storage is outboard behind the seat backs and in lockers shelves above.
Opposite to starboard is the galley featuring a Force 10 gimballed 3 burner propane stove with oven, extensive Corian counter tops, and abundant storage in several lockers and drawers H&C pressure water and raw water (sea water via foot pump) are at the galley sink. A top load refrigeration box with separate freezer section is cooled by an engine driven and 12 volt DC Sea Frost unit. Just aft of the galley is the gracefully curved main companionway.
Opposite the companionway is the enclosed head with separate access from the main salon area and private access from the Master Stateroom aft. The head features a manual w.c. plumbed via a Y valve to a new holding tank fitted with a Tankwatch monitoring system and macerator pump. Ensuite shower with new teak grate drains to the separate gray water box with automatic pump out. In the fwd outboard corner is the vanity with porcelin sink and H&C pressure water. Good storage under the vanity and in lockers outboard.
Furthest aft is the private Master Stateroom featuring a private companionway aft and to port, 2 large quarter berths with bin type storage under and varnished pine ceilings lining the hull above along with a full length varnished mahogany storage shelf. Forward of the stbd berth is a large hanging locker with light.

Sails & RiggingAs with everything else on the yacht the spars, rigging and sails are all new. The owner consulted with a naval architect and spar designer and builder Jim Gretzke and had new aluminum spars built in 2005. The main mast is app. 3' taller than original and tapered, but the extra sail carried on the spars is offset by the gain in righting moment with the lighter rig. All of the spars are now anodized aluminum with 1X19 stainless steel wire rigging. The orginal mast step was replaced with a new custom carbon fiber mast step.

Hull & DeckSolid fiberglass hull finished with white Awlgrip, gold cove stripe and flag blue boot top. Bottom is barrier coated and finished with a hard epoxy red anti fouling.
Decks are cored fiberglass with a teak overlay (as noted in the "additional section" all of the coring was replaced during the refit from the inside with new interior laminate all vacumm bagged). The teak deck was new in the late nineties and has no fastenings in it. The deck house is fiberglass with solid teak laminated on the sides of the trunk cabin. All of the exterior brightwork was refinished in '05 and has several coats of gloss spar varnish showing nice depth.
As part of the onboing refit the keel was dropped in '07/08 and all new keel bolts installed and then the keel was reglassed in place.

AdditionalIt is difficult to comprehend, even having been aboard the finished product, the extent of the refit this stunning yacht has received. Twice surveyed during the refit process to document its extent, the second surveyor, very highly regarded Paul Haley of G. W. Full & Assoc. used words like "sparking jewel" to describe her. The boat is in virtually all respects new. I will quickly highlight what is original and then re-detail the rebuild below.
The hull, basic deck house, and the outer fiberglass skin of the cored deck are original and that is it! Even the hull, one might argue is not completely original given the keel removal and new glass that went into it winter of '07/08.
'98/99 new teak decks with no fastenings
'02 commencement of major refit: entire interior of the hull was gutted, all deck coring and the inner fiberglass skin was removed and all new end grain balsa coring was installed along with a new inner skin with the entire laminate vacumm bagged. All new wiring, switch panels, lighting fixtures. All new fuel, water, holding, gray water tanks, all new pumps, plumbing and plumbing fixtures. The entire interior having been removed including the bulkheads (see photos) a new interior was crafted by French & Webb to a very high standard. Some orginal woodwork was saved such as the teak doors etc. All of the new wood work is done to a higher standard than the original builders yard. Where any original woodwork was used it was, of course, refinished. All new headliner, cushions, upholstery, pillows everything is new.
The engine was installed in 2004 and of course all associated equipment, fuel tank, engine beds, controls, Racor fuel filter are all new. All new tanks, plumbing, plumbing fixtures, pumps, through hulls and seacocks.
Up on deck: The teak decks were new in the late nineties and are glued, not screwed down. The core of the decking was removed during the rebuild, from the inside out, new coring and new interior laminate was installed using a vacumm bag technology. All chain plates were removed and replaced with heavier higher grade stainless (all new gussetts below tying the chain plates to the hull); new custom stainless stem head fitting, new stanchions, bow and stern rails, and lifelines, all new ports, all hatches new or rebuilt, new dorade boxes and new polished stainless steel dorades, new sissy or granny bars at the mast. All new Edson steering, new teak cockpit grates. New windlass and assoc wiring, new ground tackle, new saltwater wash down system, new ABYC compliant propane locker and 2 10 lb. tanks. New masts and booms, standing and running rigging, new custom carbon fiber mast step, all new sails, winches, and mainsheet traveller system, new geneoa and staysail tracks, detachable inner forestay, and roller furl system are all new as are all of the sails, sail cover and other canvas.
The toe rails were removed and new toe rails built and installed rebedded and as was all other brightwork refinished. The hull was completely stripped and refinished with white Awlgrip, gold cove stripe, and Awlgripped flag blue boot top, bottom was barrier coated. While the toe rails were off and before Awlgripping the original glass in the hull deck joint was ground back and new fiberglass laid up. New rudder fabricated in fiberglass with all new rudder stock, quadrant etc.
Originally built to Lloyds of specifications and new work was done to the same spec.
Words alone cannot convey what this boat is all about so we have prepared a CD with nearly 100 photographs that show not only her current condition but detail much of the refit work that was done on her. Please call for one and we will gladly mail a copy to you. Then you simply have to come see her for yourself if you are truly going to appreciate her.
