Vessel Walk Thru
An ambidextrous 38 footer, the Stanley Williams provides a comfortable inviting interior and a large cockpit and helm deck making her a very versatile traditionally lined yacht.
First the interior: Herreshoff style finish of varnished Honduras Mahogany trim, locker doors, etc. on painted white bulkheads and other flat panels and varnished teak and holly sole. There is an abundance of natural lighting with one large overhead hatch and six opening bronze ports; artificial lighting is equally well provided. Starting forward is a 7' long V-berth. (Not shown in photos are two removable pipe berths that, when installed, act as comfortable back rests when down, or when up as additional berths providing accommodations for four. Above the berth the hull is lined with varnished Mahogany "ceilings" and a full length storage shelf with fiddle. Below the berths there are four drop face storage lockers with additional bin style storage further forward under the base of the V. There is a chart storage locker under deck and access to the anchor locker as well as an additional storage locker.
Aft of the berth are 4' settees P&S that will comfortably seat four, with storage under. Above and outboard to port are lockers with shelves and to starboard is a six drawer bureau. Additional storage may be found behind the seat-backs. Dining is from a varnished Mahogany drop leaf table.
Furthest aft and to port is the enclosed Head with fore and aft vanity outboard with storage and stainless sink with H&C pressure water. The head is equipped with an ensuite shower which drains to a separate sump. Recent manual Wilcox & Crittenden W.C. plumbed via a Y valve to the waste tank.
Opposite the Head is the L-Shaped galley featuring a generous top loading "ice box" fitted with a Grunert engine driven (with 110 volt shore power assist) refrigeration system, 2 burner Paul Luke propane stove with oven/broiler, single basin stainless steel sink with H&C pressure water as well as manual fresh water faucets. The counter tops are Butcher Block Formica and there is a great deal of storage for galleyware and dry food stuffs in lockers and custom dish racks etc.
Part of her notable upgrades under current ownership was the addition of Webasto diesel cabin heat 2016 which will take the chill off on a damp morning or greatly extend the cruising season.
Up three steps to the helm deck which has a laid teak sole with black Thiokol seams finished in Cetol. To port is a bench seat with storage under. The helm station is to starboard. All of the exterior "bright" finishes including the interior of the wheelhouse are varnished Mahogany and are in excellent condition. Also all of the surrounding canvas is new in 2016 and is thoughtfully detailed so as to make it easy to open up the helm deck by unzipping and rolling up the side windows and rolling up any/all of the three aft panels. Two over head hatches provide additional light and ventilation.
A half step down to the cockpit is a large transom seat with storage under and plenty of room for deck chairs. Additional storage may be found below decks.
Access forward is via comfortably wide side decks with appropriate hand holds.
Throughout the Stanley Williams 38 is a traditional, beautifully detailed and lined downeast styled power cruiser.
