Accommodations
The Island Packet 465 offers exceptional livability and practical cruising features coupled with impeccable craftsmanship as well as good looks with a hint for the traditional. The large center cockpit provides more than just a comfortable place to congregate but also a safe working area from which you can perform all
the necessary sail adjustments underway. The wide side decks, strategically placed hand rails as well as raised bulwarks help to provide a safe working environment when on deck.
As beautiful as the 465 is above deck, its even more appealing below. The large main saloon has more than seven feet of headroom, a well appointed
combination of hand crafted furnishings, cabinetry and storage, a nav station that would excite anyone with extended cruising on their mind, a gourmet galley fit for a master chef and two of the most spacious staterooms.
When going below your attention will be drawn to the wide open salon with two full-length settees. The port settee extends to the centerline to make a double berth, and both settees are long enough to be used as sea berths. The dining table, while extremely large when fully opened, stows against a bulkhead when not in use concealing a teak wine rack.
This area is flooded with natural light provided by large CE Category A- Ocean rated safety windows, as well as, two overhead hatches. At night the light is provide by rheostat controlled overhead lights and numerous reading lamps.
Adjacent to the companionway to port is a large NAV center with a very comfortable high-backed swivel armchair, adjustable chart table, storage tray and cabinetry. Located In this area is an Icom VHF, Raymarine chartplotter, 120 v. and 12 v. electric panels, tank monitor and stereo. Also there is a wet locker in reach of the companionway.
The galley is located just to starboard and aft of the salon. This area is bright and airy with much natural light provide by several opening ports on both sides providing cross ventilation. The top-loading refrigerator and freezer compartments are digital controlled, providing both generous storage as well as efficient use of your electric. Either unit may be used as refrigerator or freezer simply by adjusting the controls. There is also a pull-out refrigerated drawer for quick access to commonly used cold items.
Further aft you will find the owners stateroom. This cabin is dominated by a double island berth with custom inner spring mattress and an abundance of beautiful cabinetry. Natural light and ventilation are provided by six opening ports and a large overhead hatch. Located on the starboard side is a more than ample hanging locker with extra height rods to provide plenty of hanging clothes storage.
Lifting the foot end of the berth will provide a large locker for bulky items. On the aft bulkhead is a door to access the large cockpit locker from below. To port is a door providing access to the owners ensuite head complete with vacu-flush head, stall shower and sink with storage below and a large mirror above. This space also has two opening ports for ventilation and natural light.
Forward of the salon and to port is the second head. With two door access it provides usage for those in the salon as well as private entrance from the forward cabin. This head also has a vacu-flush toilet, stall shower, a sink with counter space and storage both above and below. Again natural light and ventilation is provided by two opening ports and an over head hatch.
Forward of the head is the guest cabin which has a center line berth with a comfortable inner spring mattress. Similar to the owners berth, the foot end of the berth lifts up to provide a large easy access storage area. To both port and starboard are cedar lined lockers and hanging lockers. There are also four opening ports and a large overhead hatch to provide both light and ventilation.
A generator will provide all your power needs to run the reverse cycle heat pumps, water heat, battery charger and any other electrical appliances that you may have. Through out you will find only the finest joinery which includes a solid teak and maple plank floor. All the opening ports, as well as, the overhead hatches are fitted with screens.
