Introduction
1991 was the first year of the newer model Ocean 48 which continued until 1996 and is similar to the newer models. Vessel has been owned by the same owner for over 20 years. Owner is a licensed 100-ton captain and an electrical engineer and has been working on boats his whole life. This is the best equipped, best maintained older Sportfish/Cruiser. PERFECT for a liveaboard, a cruising family or for overnight charters. Highlights include 2 Generators + Inverter/LiFePo battery bank, 700 GPD Water maker, Type One MSD, 1000 LB Crane with Davits, life raft & updated electronics. 671 TIBs are the most efficient and easiest to maintain power for this vessel because they are the only models offered in a mirrored pair (all repair items are accessible from the middle of the engine room) also NO electronics on the engines, so no computer needed to diagnose issues.
As a liveaboard or extended cruiser, you have the luxury of THREE AC power sources for redundancy and efficiency, redundant Air Conditioning system to get you through the hot summers without having to come in for a repair, WATERMAKER and type one MSD so you can make water and get rid of waste efficiently, a trash compactor to limit your need for trash runs a deep freeze, larger fridge and ice maker to eliminate the need for ice stops and efficient 8 kt cruising speed but over 20 Kts available to get out of the way of weather or to get across the Gulf Stream quickly, 671TIB for the most reliable and simplest engine in that class and a third cabin for more guests or a massive space for supplies. Current owners would take 2-6 people on trips of 30 to 45 days and only have to stop for fuel, weekly or longer trash and fresh Bahama bread. Same apply for small charters operations.
