Accommodations
The owner's stateroom is aft with single berths, port and starboard separated by two hanging lockers, storage space and seat with storage below. There is storage beneath both berths and shelves over. The head is accessed from the starboard side of the stateroom and includes vanity and sink, toilet, shower and several storage lockers. The head is also accessible from the main cabin. The companionway hatch is on the center line with a ladder, making access to the cockpit and communication from down below to the those on deck very easy and safe.
Moving forward to port into the main cabin, there is a large hanging locker followed by the galley, complete with double stainless sinks with hot and cold pressure water, large top loading refrigerator, and 3-burner gimbaled propane stove with oven. On centerline is the engine box with self-contained freezer on top and a custom locker overhead with a microwave oven in the forward side and additional storage for the galley.
The Nav station is to starboard which is the electronic and electrical control station for the vessel. There is storage under the seat, bookcase, drawers and storage under the chart table. Further forward there are pilot uppers and transom lowers both port and starboard separated by a drop leaf table with storage. Forward of the berths are storage lockers and drawers. Moving further forward is the forward stateroom with a hanging locker to port and a general storage locker to starboard and a spacious "V" berth with filler. There are sail storage bins under the berths. The entire interior is varnished teak with teak and holly soles, vinyl and teak overheads and cabin lights.
ConstructionThe solid fiberglass hull newly Awlgripped dark green (2019). In 1997 CHASSEUR had extensive underbody modifications including a new carbon fiber spade rudder built by Eric Goertz. Keel was reconfigured and now has a bulb which increased the Stability Index to a very seaworthy 147. All this work was done to new designs by Sparkman & Stephens to improve her performance.
