Precision Boat Works (Precision Sailboats) was established in 1978 with a simple goal of affordably bringing the joys of sailing to the average family. The general concept was to create a line boats that were easily trailered behind a basic car or truck. They were to be simple enough to keep expenses low, but ample enough to sleep aboard and stable enough to safely carry the family.

Over the past 25 years Precision Boat Works have quietly built over 3,000 boats that meet their goal of affordable family fun. The Precision line of boats are lively performers and have excellent sea manners. Precision now carries a well deserved and honestly earned reputation for delivering a solid sailboat that is easy to use and trouble free to service.

Jim Taylor, who is well known as a leading custom race boat designer in New England, brings that extreme level of design skill to all of Precision's boats. The designs are all laid out with the sailor in mind, and they make the most out of all available space. The hulls and decks are constructed of hand laminated fiberglass and are well appointed with top of the line hardware. These boats have spared their owners of the bad habits that most trailerable boats exhibit. They go upwind exceptionally well; they reach and run and they have fantastic stability which helps build confidence in new sailors.
