Cheoy Lee Yacht North America is located in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida, otherwise known as the "Venice of America". Cheoy Lee Shipyards North America is a direct subsidiary of the Hong Kong based parent company which was founded way back in 1870. The North American company acts as a liaison between customers, clients, agents and brokers and the shipyard and main administrative offices in Hong Kong. Cheoy Lee is a family owned and run business having been in the Lo family for over a century since its beginning.

With a rich and diverse history in both commercial and pleasure craft ship construction, Cheoy Lee were one of the pioneers in the use of fiberglass yacht construction in the early 1960's. At that time, fiberglass construction began to replace the traditional teak motor and sail boats that the company produced at that time. Maintaining strong ties with the United States, which has been a major trading partner for nearly fifty years, Cheoy Lee has delivered nearly 5,000 vessels to date.

Most of the vessel purchasing is done from the Ft. Lauderdale office, guaranteeing availability for parts and replacement items to help with ease of maintenance and warranty work. Cheoy Lee maintains a service and new vessel commissioning yard on the New River in Ft. Lauderdale as well.
