The hull on the Huckins is double diagonal planked Philippine Mahogany bonded with resorcinol resin and sheathed in 20 oz. fiberglass cloth, 2 layers set in epoxy.That was done at the Huckins yard in 1970. All decks and cabin tops are sheathed in 20 oz. fiberglass cloth set in epoxy.
The current owner started in 2001 and finished in 2006 .Ensite Superstructure was rebuilt and fiberglassed in epoxy. Bridge and BRIDGE deck are of a new design. Fuel and water tank were removed, inner hull layer was replaced and sealed in epoxy from garboard up 14". 22 new frames and 4 new bulkheads were installed. 12 new frames were installed under aft cabin. Inner hull found to be solid.
Engines were remove and modification,full inspection of area all in good order.
The owner spent over $ 490,000 in his 5 years of rebuilding, replacing bulk heads, replacing frames and removing fuel tanks to repair the areas of concern.
You will not find another boat with the features of this Huckins !
GalleyThe full width galley is located in the lower trunk cabin all the way aft. Generous storage for food, dishes, is available. Kenyon glass electric cook top with overboard exhaust fan. We have a builtin nine cu.ft GE refrigerator/freezer and a built-in microwave . A Large deep well stainless sink
EnginesThe Crusader engines were rebuilt at 300 hours and horse power increased to 380 hp. The V drives were removed and inspected along with transmissions and all seals replaced. The engines were just flushed to increase their performance. The boat will be on plane at 10 knots, cruise at 16-18 knots at 3600 to 3800 rpms and run 25 knots at 4,500 rpms. She will cruise at 20 mph and use 15 gallons of fuel per hour, or 1.5 mile per gallon.
AccommodationsThe master stateroom is forward with port and starboard berths and an enclosed head compartment with a stall shower. Opposite the head is a large hanging locker. Aft and up three steps is the saloon. A custom built settee is located on the port side. There are two custom built swivel chairs on starboard side. Two steps down there is a built in sofa/berth on the port side and center line is the new U- shape dinette on the starboard side. An enclosed day head is located on the port side . A new full width galley is located all the way aft.
ElectronicsAll electronics are isolated through individually controlled breaker/ switches in power panel on bridge above helm.

ElectricalAll wiring is new. Custom built 12 volt motor monitoring/alarm system which monitors all 12 volt motors at 4 stations. Vector Max 3000 watt inverter. Interior lighting in all cabins 120/12v lamps and overhead Halogen lights. Overhead 12v LED white, red for night vision and amber for effect. Exterior lighting Halogen in cockpit, over head bridge deck and over helm, 12v LED red for safety on bridge deck, handrails , cockpit, and bow at windlass. A pair of Halogen docking lights mounted under aft bridge hardtop to illuminate cockpit and stern of boat. New Kohler 6.5 KW gas generator with sound shield has 148 hours. 4 Bilge pumps were installed at time of rebuild. All electrical wire were replace at time of rebuild, hard wire.
Mechanical EquipmentAll systems are new, plumbing,pumps,wiring. There are two Marine Air air conditioning units, 12,000 and 16,000 BTU. There is a Lectra/San MC type ! Marine Sanitation System with 20 gallon holding tank with mascerator pump for overboard discharge and deck fitting for dockside pump outs. The holding tank has a Tank watch monitoring system. There is a six gallon electric hot water heater.
