Vessel Walk Thru
This handsome Northern Bay 38 is finished as a yacht but equipped as a yacht/fish if one so chooses, with a single stateroom with island queen, galley down layout. She is done "Herreshoff Style" with varnished teak trim on white fiberglass flat panels. Cabin soles throughout are varnished teak and holly. Great headroom for a vessel of this LOA with nearly 6'-7" on center line in the wheelhouse/salon (6'-5" under the teak clad wire chase directly on center line and at the helm) and nearly 6'5" below and 6'-3" in the stateroom.
There is an abundance of natural light and good ventilation with the Salon surrounded by windows; the center line windshield opens and there are two overhead hatches that funnel air in while below decks there are six opening ports and one large and two smaller hatches. All of the hatches and ports have screens.
Starting forward is the private Stateroom with island queen berth 6'-9" in length and 5' in width at the shoulders tapering to 3' at the foot. Below the berth the bow thruster is housed as well as a Group 31 battery for the thruster and windlass as well as space for some dry goods. There are three storage lockers on each side outboard.
Aft and to starboard is a a private entry to the Head and stall shower compartment, featuring a Vacuflush fresh water W.C., fore and aft varnished teak vanity with polished stainless sink with H&C water and storage in three lockers and forward most a stall shower compartment with seat outboard (draining to a separate sump with pump).
To port is the L-Shaped Galley with Corian counter tops with deep single basin stainless steel sink with H&C pressure water, and large top loading storage unit. Additional storage is in sliding face lockers outboard and one aft and above. Below there are two Vertifrigo dual voltage refrigeration and freezer drawers and storage in an additional locker and four drawers. Cooking is off a Force 10 3 burner propane stove with oven while smaller jobs are handled in the Panasonic Microwave.
Up three steps (with storage under) to the Salon/Wheelhouse; to starboard there is space for free standing seating and outboard there is a built in unit housing a pop-up TV Lift. To port is an L-shaped settee that is 6'-6" in length and when the table is dropped down to berth height makes a 46" in width double berth. There is top load storage under the settee. Forward most there is built in true double seats port and starboard with helm station to starboard and forward of the port seat a small desk top for chart kits etc. with storage under.
The center line door provides access to the cockpit with propane locker to port and small locker to starboard. The cockpit is 10'-6" in length and 10', inside the coamings, in width and has a teak overlay with live well on center line above deck aft and two fish boxes P&S that may alternatively be used as storage lazarettes. The transom door to starboard provides easy access to the fiberglass swim platform.
Generous side decks with appropriately placed hand holds provide easy access fore and aft. Two small lockers on each side of the anchor platform provide additional on deck storage.
