In the 70's the bowrider concept was introduced and applauded. It infiltrated the small, fast, sporty boat world and has never slowed down. Jump to 2018 and you'll they still have a solid foundation.Chaparral has come up with a winner with the 246 that takes all the good things about bowriders and expands dramatically on them. They opened the foredeck and allows for comfortable enjoyment. They built a sport boat that has a clean wake for skiing, a ride that feels like it flattens those choppy days, expansive seating, and plenty of storage, unlike almost all boats its size. Lastly, it provides, quite simply, a safe sporty bowrider.
The Chaparral hull carries her upper beam all the forward past the windshield, and the supporting arch, called the ogive of the bow doesn't really hit the deck level until halfway down the seats. This along with the classic sweet flare on both the bow and down the sides gives more space forward, plenty of lift, and an ability to take one on the nose while keeping the passengers dry.
The MerCruiser power plant has only 85 hours on it.
Chaparral has certainly thought these things through.
