Accommodations & Layout:
Liberty has a Center Entry Queen layout that results in a generous berth in the forward cabin that measures 6’6” long x 7’ at the head x 19” at the foot. A divided chain locker is forward of the berth and an opening door provides access to the chain. A hawse pipe directs the chain aft to another locker under the foot of the berth which increases stowage capacity and moves the weight low and aft. Two cherry lockers to port and two to starboard provide abundant room for stowing clothes or gear. Since there are no tanks under the V-berth this area is available for stowage of large and small items in four compartments accessible under the mattress. In addition, there are generous stowage compartments under the two seats in the forward cabin and in the large pullout drawers beneath the V-berth. There is a cedar-lined and ventilated hanging locker on the port side of the forward cabin and a divided stowage locker on the starboard side.
The main cabin has a centerline drop-leaf table with a stowage compartment in the middle and flanked by two settees with lee cloths underneath and stowage outboard. The port settee pulls out to form a double berth when needed. There are custom Valiant cabinets on each side of the main cabin with bookshelves above and additional lockers below, allowing for a tremendous amount of useable (and accessible) storage in the salon. Also as you would expect on this offshore boat there are plenty of handholds throughout the interior.
The galley is designed for cooking offshore. There is gimbaled propane stove to port with a 3 burner stainless steel oven and a stove crash bar in front of the stove and a stainless steel flash guard over the oven. The galley is equipped with a well-insulated DC Seafrost refrigerator and freezer system with digital controls for both. The galley features a large bulk storage locker three opening cabinets, three utensil drawers, a slide out trash bin, and a generous of amount of Corian counter space. In addition, there are deep double stainless steel sinks inboard in the galley which assists the drainage of water on a heel. Just to starboard of the galley is the pantry consisting of four large slide-out drawers for the stowage of food and two additional stowage compartments above and below the pantry.
A forward facing nav station with an Raymarine E120W, Raymarine ST70 plus color instrument, Icom VHF, Icom SSB, as well as the AC/DC breaker panel is to starboard of the galley. Aft of the navigator’s seat are the head, dedicated wet locker, stainless steel sink, stowage shelves with sliders, and a separate shower compartment. To port is an aft cabin with a berth measuring 6’8” x 4’8”. This cabin has an opening bulkhead that allows for light, ventilation and easy access to the cabin but is easily closed to provide a private aft cabin complete with two drawers, a long stowage compartment, a cedar-lined hanging locker, a small seat and a mirror.
Aft of the head on the starboard side is an opening that allows access to the engine compartment. Additional engine access is obtained by easily removing the companionway steps. At the base of the companionway is a teak drainage grate while the wet locker for stowage of the wet gear is nearby inside the shower compartment.
