Accommodations
Fwd cabin is exceptionally spacious with 6' of headroom, flared bow sections, and large opening hull ports. Satin finished cherry hull staving and gloss varnished teak & holly cabin sole give a rich warmth to the interior. A framed, flush-mounted cabinet at the forepeak provides access to the anchor locker. Additional storage is below the settee seat cushions, behind seat backs, and on hullside fiddled shelves. A solid cherry pedestal table can be used at the settee or moved up to the cockpit.
The galley is aft to port. Just to port of the companionway is a full-sized hanging locker with shelf, great for storing foul weather gear, boots, etc, within easy reach of the cockpit. The fully enclosed head is to stbd of the companionway. Stainless sink offers hot and cold pressure fresh water with a pull-out faucet that can be used as a shower. Storage is in cherry hullside slider cabinets, and in cabinets below the sink and behind the marine toilet. A screened opening cabin port provides natural light and ventilation.
Up three steps is the incredibly social cockpit features wrap-around bolstered cockpit seating. Lift the aft seat hatch easily, assisted by counter-balanced pistons, for access to all points of the engine. Deep locker storage is under port and stbd seat hatches, with additional storage in a lazarette on center below the deck. Teak decking is soft under foot and thoughtfully installed with epoxy, rather than mechanical fasteners, ensuring longevity. Climb easily in and out of your dinghy via the swim platform with fresh water shower in the transom to rinse off.

Fuel Efficiency a word from MJM YachtsWithin the 29-33 foot category*, the 29z reigns supreme for fuel-efficiency. Performance and "fuel mileages" per gallon are unmatched by any production builder worldwide
The 29z is the "greenest", most ecologically friendly powerboat for its size range. To match 29z's technological advantage, competitors would have to transform factories, technology, philosophies and manufacturing methods to even come close to the unmatched performance of the 29z. Simply put, a nearly 50% reduction in fuel consumption on a "miles per gallon" basis is not possible without a complete re-thinking of how powerboats are built.
It's not surprising that MJM's "green" initiative started with sailors. After all, you can't get more fuel-efficient than windpower. Bob Johnstone, co-founder and principal of J Boats, Inc., the world's leading performance brand of sailboats, created MJM with a similar goal in mind. He partnered with Doug Zurn, who he believed had the best eye for creating beautiful fast powerboats, to design the patented signature look of the brand. Then not being able to find any powerboat builder with advanced laminate construction experience, they turned to a custom racing sailboat master builder, Mark Lindsay and Boston Boatworks. Mark had 30 years experience building America's Cup and World Championship winners. The superior structural and laminate engineering skills of Steve Burke completed the team...not unlike creating a Formula One racing car team in automobiles. Only then can you begin to appreciate the know-how and experience that goes into building you the world's best 29 foot powerboat - the MJM 29z!
The chart depicts the significant fuel-efficiency differences between an MJM 29z and various brands and types of powerboats. This comparison is based on published data from marine publications. You would be hard-pressed to find a more environmentally-friendly powerboat today.
If you have any questions, please contact us and we'd be happy to provide you more insights why the MJM line of "Z" powerboats are the greenest powerboats built to date!
* Length Overall of the 29z is 32' 5"
