Vessel Walk Through-

Entering from the aft cockpit - The deckhouse has a central helm and L-shaped settee and table, and  a panoramic view through large, offshore rated safety glass windows for both the helmsman and guests. The side and rear windows slide open for ventilation, also a large Lewmar hatch over helm seat with as well as a center forward windshield section hinges upward for further ventilation and contact with guests in the forward cockpit.

Both overhead and bulkhead mounted lights provide the lighting after dark. The Island Packet has provided the boat with ample hand holds, helm guard, storage cabinets and a book rack to round out the cabinetry in this area. A beautifully varnished hardwood sole, upholstered headliner and teak valances over all windows add the finishing touches. 

Forward of the Pilot House is a large spacious Galley . It is easily accessible to the Pilot house, and 3 steps down, but completely open to pilot house for convenient conversation.

Moving forward into the private owner's stateroom is a queen sized island berth , extensive cabinetry and access to the Head w/shower

Just aft of the head , and accessed from the Galley area, is an office/vanity with varnished teak desk and tray storage under hinged lid, this area would be great to set up an onboard office and computer if needed. A moveable upholstered seat, overhead lighting and easily accessible storage along with slip-resistant molded diamond pattern sole finish this space. This is not a dark out of the way space, this area has its own opening port and is flanked by the head forward, the galley behind and aft cabin to your right.

Further aft is the guest cabin with twin berths and storage areas. Access to the engine/machinery is provide by the inboard berth lifting with gas support struts to provide full access to the engine and all of the mechanical systems relating to it. Extensive gasketing and sound insulation has been used to minimize sound levels when under way. 

 The last of the interior spaces is located beneath the wheelhouse sole and is accessed by a door in the galley. This is a dedicated mechanical and storage area containing the generator, batteries and refrigerator compressors with plenty of room to store items such as folding bikes

Forward stateroom-

The owner's stateroom Features a queen sized island berth complete with a five-inch innerspring mattress with quilted pillow top. The aft end of berth is on gas support struts to access blanket tray with a cedar-lined drawer beneath. This berth is flanked by two large cedar-lined hanging lockers with shelves over and extra height rods outboard (port side) as well as two bureaus with shelves over. To complete this area is full length hinged mirrored door that provides for a 7' tall hanging locker. Three opening ports and a large Lewmar hatch with OceanAir screen and shade provide plenty of ventilation in this area. Varnished teak cabinetry, bulkheads and trim with Berber-style oatmeal color marine carpet on sole provide the owner with a most comfortable home away from home after a long day on the water 

AFT Stateroom:

The aft cabin contains wide twin berths with five-inch innerspring mattresses with quilted pillow tops. There is a teak privacy door separating the galley/office area from the aft cabin. There is a large cedar lined bureau (with removable shelves for use as hanging locker) with an open shelf space above. There is storage both under and aft of outboard berth. A light colored high-pressure laminate was used on some of the surfaces to give a more open feeling to this space with varnished teak cabinetry and trim to provide a richer feel and to add accent and definition. With opening ports both fore and aft your guest will be quite comfortable.

Head: The uniquely designed head compartment provides duel access enabling the owners a private access to the head. This is a large area contains a separate shower stall with shower seat. There is a stainless steel rod in shower area which can be used for hanging wet items. Molded vanity top with integral sink, molded contoured counter outboard of toilet all help to make for easy cleaning. Light color laminate was again used in the head area to make for a bright, open feeling in this space. Ample storage cabinets are located below the sink. An opening port adds to the ventilation and light in this area. A large mirror above the sink and a tile patterned molded slip-resistant sole help to round out this area. 

Operation of the PY Cruiser is easy and comfortable with a centerline helm console and matching captain and companion chairs.  There is a large console forward of wheel for engine controls and instruments, chart drawer outboard, large, flat console area forward of passenger seat for navigation activities, cup/mug holders and space for optional navigation instrumentation : this, together with a panoramic view through eight windows and a large aft door, allows for optimum control of the helm.  Both helm chairs swivel aft to face the L-shaped settee and fold out dining table, making for a wonderful social center for meals or for entertainment activities. The Galley features a center island and walk through design, and laminate countertops with varnished teak sea rails on port & starboard sides as you past thru. The cabinet faces are all treated with a light colored laminate with varnished teak trim to provide both easy maintenance and a bright airy feel. Both the fridge/freezer compartments have drop front lids and gas support struts for easy access.

Since our founding in 1979, Island Packet Yachts has focused on building safe, comfortable, high quality cruising sailboats that have also become notable for their exceptional long-term value. The PY Cruiser is unique in that it features two cockpits (one aft, with a transom door to a large stern platform typical of many trawlers), plus one forward (similar to many mid-cockpit sailboats), a large enclosed helm station at the forward end of the deckhouse (with a large overhead hatch and opening central window adjoining the forward cockpit), and remarkable accommodations for a yacht of this size.

As is now increasingly popular, the helm station may be supplemented with an optional autopilot, providing the ability to steer the boat from virtually any location with a wireless handheld control.

  Below the waterline, the signature Island Packet Full Foil Keel® has been retained for its many attributes (moderate draft, low ballast center of gravity, protected prop and rudder, integral structural attachment, superb seakeeping, double bottom protection, etc.) and the PY's broader stern sections, with a flatter run and less deadrise, provide virtually level running under power, even at full throttle (8+ knots). The large fuel tank allows extended range under power with very economical fuel consumption (1,000NM @ 6+ knots, 700NM @ 7+ knots). 

To minimize maintenance, exterior teak is used only on a few small step surfaces. Below decks a combination of varnished hardwood and Formica produce a bright and attractive décor. The deckhouse will have a varnished sole and stateroom areas will be finished in a natural colored Berber type marine grade carpet. The galley, nav/office and head/shower area will have low maintenance molded fiberglass slip resistant soles.
