Additional Information and Owners CommentsParting with this boat will be difficult. We have boated throughout Southwest Florida and have enjoyed it. Our trips were predominantly for 4 to 10 days, mostly staying in marinas. This boat is great to live on because it's very spacious inside, everything is on the same level and its systems are very convenient and practical. We always use the separate shower on board, never the community showers.
Why are we selling the boat? Our mission has changed. We want to do some long distance traveling throughout the Caribbean. this required that we look for a larger and a longer range boat with added capabilities and capacities such as a watermaker, second stateroom, and other things. This new boat we are having built is an Endeavour 40' Catamaran Trawler.
On the water, the Carver Mariner 36 is easy to handle. docking is simple with the added security of a bow thruster. The wide walk around makes line handling very safe. This was one of Carvers bestselling boats for many years because of its practicality.
The SS hydraulic activated dinghy lift launches the dinghy in seconds with the push of a button. You simply leave the lift all the way down when you go out in the dinghy, and when you come back you get out of the dinghy on the swim platform. Next, simply press a button and the dinghy lifts out of the water and swings in toward the transom for storage while traveling. Go to sealift.com to view a demo video.
Since the electronics world changes every few years, all the systems were updated and in some cases with added redundancy. This was done in 2013 and in many cases exceeds the equipment found on much larger yachts.
The Carver has been maintained at the highest level. Anything stops working and it is fixed. The bottom is dived every 30 days, the boat is washed at least twice a month and waxed every four months. For the last 4 1/2 years, the boat has been cruised a minimum of once a month so it never sits idle.
