28' Luhrs 28 Open Sports Fishing Boats

Kubota Gen-Set is removed from the boat and is being serviced at this time and is scheduled to be re-installed in the LUHRS in Sept 2015. Also, owner is going thru the boat replacing aged plumbing parts, cleaning corroded electrical connections, rewiring as needed. Making sure all interior and exterior lights are operating properly.

Mid Summer, owner discovered that unknown person(s) removed the radar control module and cut the cables powering the module. The helm cover was also stolen.

As the owner understands most buyers might purchase all new electronics, he has priced this boat very aggressively.. As the Radar was working properly prior to the module theft, a new owner might choose to replace the control module and proceed..

This is a very nice boat, and the seller is correcting all the nit-picking items that need attention on an ongoing basis....this way a new owner can just start using and enjoying this fine LUHRS 28 Open!

The original YANMAR engines were factory recalled, and in appx 2012, YANMAR majorly rebuilt them. The new engines are fantastic. When I filmed the boat, I asked the owner if I could hear them operate. They started up immediately and sounded velvety.

Though we report 714 hours, this represents total hours on the hull.

The hours on the factory reworked engines are appx. 100. These YANMAR diesel engines are fantastic power plants! Very powerful and very economical to operate. Owner says one of the pleasant surprises after the factory rebuilds is the economy......these engines now "sip" diesel; they no longer guzzle!

If you price the engines alone, the expense of purchase and installation is approximately the amount the owner is asking for the entire boat.

The boat was professionally surveyed in April 2015. A copy of the survey is available but only for serious buyers........call me if you would like to receive a copy...ph. 830.444.9831.

Since the survey the owner has made the following fixes:

Kubota generator service injector & injector pump; new glow plug, new generator head

Recent work:

Mid-May - quick haul to clean wheels & rudders; replace zincs on shafts and trim tabs

Restore fly bridge seat with new foam & vinyl

Restore two deck chairs with new plywood, foam & vinyl.

Replaced bent anchor Repaired two sink drain connections

Oil & filter change @ 700 hours;

Fuel filter sumps inspected (clean & clear of water)

Seller ready to sell now, and his price is thousands of dollars below book.
