Walk Through and Accommodations
The Moody 46 is a superb high-performance vessel for coastal and blue water cruising. This three stateroom model accommodates seven but can be sailed comfortably by two with all the controls located conveniently within the long center cockpit. An in-mast furling mainsail, headsail furler, and a bow thruster all add to the ease of operation under sail or power.
Starting forward and moving aft, the accommodation spaces include:
Forward Guest Stateroom:
The private forward stateroom offers a large centerline berth with light and ventilation provided by a large overhead hatch. To starboard is an ample hanging locker.
Port Guest Bunk Room:
Just aft of the Forward Stateroom to port is another private cabin with over/under twin berths, a very large hanging locker and storage, and an opening deck hatch.
Forward Head:
To starboard is a guest/day head compartment with a solid-surface vanity with wash basin, marine head, hot/cold pressurized fresh water, shower area, and an opening deck hatch.
Main Salon:
The main salon features a large U-shaped settee to port with a folding leaf table that can be configured as a cocktail table or fold out to seat six-eight guests for dinner. To starboard are two built in arm chairs with a locker between. Cabinets and shelving provide storage above to both port and starboard. A beautiful cherry interior, cherry and holly cabin sole, and dark blue leather upholstery accent the main salon.
Galley:
Down one step to starboard, just aft of the main salon is a well laid-out U-shaped galley with generous work space and storage. Features include:
Solid surface countertops with deeply fiddled edges
 Double round stainless steel sinks
Gimballed 4-burner propane stove with oven and exhaust fan
 Magic Chef Microwave
 Large front-loading Isotherm refrigerator
 Top loading freezer
 Hot/Cold pressurized water
Nav Station:
To port and aft of the salon is the well-equipped Nav Station, which includes a desk, bench seat, navigation electronics, storage and nearby wet locker closet, and the AC and DC distribution panel.
Port Passage:
Aft of the Nav Station to port is a passage cabin leading to the Aft Master Stateroom. This area contains a single pilot berth above a built-in locker/sideboard unit. This passage can serve as a single berth or a dressing/storage area for the Aft Master. Inboard are two large access doors to the engine room.
Aft Master Stateroom:
Furthest aft is a full-beam master suite with a centerline island queen berth, twin curved port and starboard burgundy leather seats, vanity desk with large flat screen TV above, port and starboard hanging lockers and storage cabinets, under berth drawers, an overhead hatch, opening port lights, and an aft facing coach roof window.
An en suite Master Head is forward to starboard an offers a separate stall shower with opening portlight, marine toilet, solid surface vanity with wash basin and mirrored medicine cabinet.
Hull and DeckThe hull and deck are hand laid fiberglass construction with isophthalic gelcoat backed by initial layup of powder bound mat and isophtalic resin. Hull and topsides above waterline are balsa cored sandwich construction for light weight and increased stiffness. Hull is stiffened by bonded frames and stringers in conjunction with semi-structural internal moldings.
