Accommodations and Layout
The interior is open and uncluttered. Starting forward is a private cabin with bi-fold door. A V-berth with foam mattresses and filler converts to a large double. There are numerous shelves and storage lockers and two cedar-lined hanging lockers. Moving aft to starboard is a dinette with teak table that lowers to convert to a double berth. There is a hanging locker aft with shelving outboard.
The galley is located aft, to port. Equipment includes a Norcold 110/12 volt refrigerator, Kenyon electric stove top, GE microwave oven with shelf, pressurized fresh water system, 6-gallon stainless steel hot water tank with 110-volt element and heat exchanger, over sized stainless steel sink with Grohe pull-out faucet and Corian counter tops with fiddles. There are also an extra electrical outlet and phone jack in the galley.
Aft of the galley is a head with ensuite shower. It is fitted with a fresh water Vacu-flush toilet and holding tank system with a Tankwatch III Monitor. Highlights include a porcelain sink with Grohe shower faucet, a cherry framed mirror, Corian counter, chrome fixtures and a removable shower grate. An opening port provides light and ventilation.
The cabin interior has solid cherry trim, locker frames, drawer fronts and corner posts with hand-rubbed varnish finish; a cherry hull ceiling with hand rubbed finish; roller-bearing drawer slides with Kroon flush positive latches; a varnished teak and holly cabin sole with satin finish and padded fabric overhead panels. There are bedspreads, mattress pads and fleece blankets.
Bridge DeckLocated two steps up and forward of the cockpit, the bridge deck serves as the prime entertainment area on the Little Harbor Express. Totally enclosed with heat and air conditioning or open to the elements, it is always comfortable. A custom low-profile helm station (new teak flashing, 2010) with full electronics (upgraded in 2010) and instrumentation and a beige Ultra-leather Stidd helm chair is located forward, to starboard. Forward to port is a customized lift-up hand-rubbed teak chart table with phone outlet and electrical outlet. An L-settee seats four comfortably with a hand-rubbed teak table and cover. A removable seat back can be used by the co-helmsman/navigator. Alternatively the table can be removed altogether to make room for a crowd.
Behind the helmsman's seat is a large Igloo cooler with tie-downs and Doe Ultra-leather cushion that provides additional seating as well as quick access to cold drinks. All cushions are Doe Ultra-leather.
The entire bridge deck is hinged and lifts up using an electric lift allowing access to the engine room. There is also a smaller hatch for quick access to the engine room.
