This green 1998 Abin 28 TE is located in Stamford CT. The original GM 6.5 L diesel 300 HP engine is lightly used at 540 hours and has been well maintained.  This express cruiser incorporates the classic North Sea comfort in an easily driven modern hull. Albin 28 TEs are terrific family boats, recogized universally for their sea keeping ability and safety. Great for family cruising and fishing alike, these Albin 28 TEs were and still are a popular choice for a small but able cruiser. The Albin 28’s are a popular choice for retired sailboat captains.

These top rated hardtop cruiser (over 1,000 built to date) enjoy a solid reputation for rugged construction and good seakeeping qualities. The solid pilot house with the aft drop curtain provides full weather protection at the helm.

The spacious cockpit is easily accessed by the port side transom door and is ideal for family or fishing with her wide side decks, baitwell, rod storage rack, rod holders, raw water washdown and tackle drawers. The hard-topped wheelhouse is fitted with large sliding side windows and opening center window allow for plenty of ventilation. Two swivel helm chairs comfortably seat captain and mate, with a complete electronics package and full instrumentation at the helm.

Below decks, her forecabin is accented with teak trim, Formica cabinets and courtesy lighting with excellent light and ventilation with six opening ports and a large overhead hatch. The quarter berth and spacious convertible dinette forward combine to sleep four owners and guests in comfort. Removable forward backrests easily turn the U-shaped dinette into a queen-size double berth with additional storage beneath. The full-size galley includes a refrigerator, single-burner butane stove, stainless sink with hot/cold pressurized water, fold-up countertop and microwave oven. The quarter berth to port extends beneath the bridge deck and features a full-size double berth with storage bin below. And the fully-enclosed head features a manual head with holding tank, hot and cold shower wand and a stainless sink with vanity and ample storage.

The single 300-hp Peninsular diesel and standard bow thruster make for superior economical operation while sacrificing nothing to a twin-engine design in terms of maneuverability. And the skeg-protected propeller adds to safe operation in shallow waters. She also boasts a swim platform with boarding ladder, radar, and GPS chartplotters.
