Vessel Walk-through
Accommodations for up to four in a single stateroom layout with varnished teak trim on white flat panels and a varnished teak and holly sole. (The teak and holly sole is the market preferred finish but was not widely used until about 2000). Superior natural light and ventilation with three hatches with screens and six ports with screens. Artificial light is equally well planned with several overhead lights as well as swivel style reading lamps at the berths/settees. When occasion requires a Marine Air 16,000 BTU reverse cycle (heats & cools) air conditioning unit maintains comfortable conditions below.
A U-shaped settee, covered in off white upholstery, is located in the starboard side of the Lower Salon area opposite the galley. The teak dining/coffee table also lowers to convert the settee to a double berth. A louvered door hanging locker is just forward with TV/DVD on top. (The TV swivels and there is a companion access panel from the stateroom allowing TV viewing from either compartment) Additional storage is outboard in lockers and a book case.
The U-Shaped galley is to port featuring a large single basin sink, Formica counter tops and excellent storage in several lockers and drawers. Outboard is the Princess 3 burner propane stove with oven, while aft and below counter height is a front loading refrigeration box fitted with 12 volt Grunert system. The freezer is a generous top loading unit aft and outboard.
Master Stateroom is forward with featuring a 6'-6"+ V-berth with drawer storage underneath each berth, a bureau aft to starboard, and customized enlarged under deck lockers outboard. An overhead hatch and opening ports (all with screens) provide ample ventilation.
Aft of the stateroom to port is the Head equipped with an electric flush toilet plumbed via a Y-valve to the holding tank. The large vanity provides ample storage and is fitted with sink and H&C pressure water. Ensuite shower is plumbed to a separate sump.
Up 3 steps (storage under) from the Salon/Galley is the helm deck with helm station to starboard. There is a Stidd helm & navigators chair forward while aft is a bench seat for two that also provides storage space and houses the propane locker. There is a teak chart locker with cover forward of the navigators chair.
Down two steps to the full width cockpit with aft facing bench seat. Ample storage space for safety gear and docking equipment in the lazarettes aft. Easy access to the side decks with stainless safety railings.

Hull & DeckA notable plus to this Eastbay 38 is that she was Awlgripped from her waterline to the rail 2004. All of these surfaces have been kept waxed using the Awlcare wax system and with only minor exceptions look like they were painted far more recently. In 2012 the bottom was soda blasted.
Fiberglass hull with end grain balsa coring from the chines to the rail and solid fiberglass bottom. The hull finish from the waterline up is Flag Blue Awlgrip with a White boot top and cove stripe. The bottom is finished with ablative red anti-fouling and any paint build up has been avoided by sanding as required.
