This report represents the opinion of the undersigned based on the facts presented and the discoveries made while surveying the subject vessel with no warranty either specific or implied being made. While not limiting the generality of the above, this survey specifically does not cover certain latent defects that could not be discovered without the removal of decking, sheathing, tankage, joinery work or other fixed materials, disassembly of machinery, plumbing, wiring or other fixed parts. William Slattum is not to be held liable in any manner what so ever for any error in judgment, default, omission, negligence, miss-statement or miss-representation in this report. The request and use of this report is to be construed as acceptance of these terms.
The above captioned vessel was surveyed afloat. The vessel was hauled out of the water in March 2006 at Cracker Boy Boat Works, Fort Pierce, FL. The hull bottom was prepared and painted with Trinidad Antifouling Paint and all zincs and bonding plates were reported replace.
Inspection of the vessel was made where accessible, but it must be clearly understood that many areas are inaccessible for examination; behind linings, ceilings and soles, below engines, batteries, and tanks. This surveyor is not responsible for any delaminating, deterioration or cracking found at a later date.
1. As sighted all hoses and stainless steel screw clams were inspected and appeared to be in generally sound condition: Any suspect hose should be replaced immediately. All hoses should be inspected monthly and replaced as necessary. Clamps should be inspected and replaced when rusted.
2. Inspection of the fiberglass bonding, where accessible, of the bulkheads, partitions, stringers and transom joint to the hull revealed no signs of the vessel working or flexing. The decks and cockpit were inspected with no areas of deterioration noted.
3. * The bottom of this vessel was visually inspected from the interior only. No signs of delamination were noted.
4. * All through-hull fittings were examined from the interior and exterior above the waterline. All appear sound and secure to hull. No electrolysis or galvanic action was noted. All of the plastic above the waterline thru hulls are in serviceable condition. * All seacocks are in serviceable condition and are to be proved monthly. * All sea cocks to be serviced yearly.
5. An inspection was made, where accessible, of both partly filled water and fuel tanks and they were found to be in apparent good condition. It is, however, recommended that they be filled and checked for any leaks, or pressurized to 3 pounds per square inch to prove the integrity as per (CFR 183.586), (ABYC H-24.17.4), (NFPA 302 5-4.10)
6. The Halon and fire extinguishers are currently tagged and certified as per (46 CFR 25.30), (ABYC A-4) (NFPA 302 10).
7. The lifejackets were inspected and found to be of the approved type and in good condition. The number of lifejackets should be one per person on board as per. (33 CFR 175), (46 CFR 25.25)
8. Anchors. Adequate for this size vessel. Full rode to be flaked, length measured bitter ends proved, and all shackled are to be safety wired. Spare anchor recommended being rigged and ready for emergency situations at the stern of the vessel.
9. The electrical wiring system was to marine specification and where accessible for inspection, was found to be in apparent good condition.
