MAGIC FOR SALE

We've lived the dream on Magic. When sailing on a moonless night with millions of stars above, through a dream-green sea glowing with bio-luminescence below, she earns her name. It's Magic. We've sailed to almost every island in the Caribbean, my wife and I. We've visited most islands many times and love them all. We've sailed her from the Chesapeake to Miami, from Miami to Trinidad and everywhere between. Bonaire, Antigua, Barbuda, Bequia. She's fast, she's gentle, and she's safe and seaworthy and she's easy to sail. All controls lead back to the cockpit, we have hydraulic winches and a sturdy autopilot. You can step down to the water aft for a refreshing swim. She's well equipped. She's a joy as she effortlessly drives through crystal-clear water or turbulent ocean passages.

Magic was built for this, she's constructed with a Kevlar hull, not just glass cloth. And she's made to do fast passages. Renowned navel architects (Cuthbertson and Cassian and Robert Ball) designed her. They loved their work, loved making fast boats. She's been looked after with TLC and all her systems are upgraded. Things that didn't work have been taken out, replaced with things that do. You can pretty well sail her singlehanded. If that isn't enough, she's way less than half the price of a new boat, she's got more equipment than the typical brand-new vessel, she's faster, and she's ready to go. She's also beautiful, she never fails to have admirers of her lines at every port, and she's easier to sail than most smaller boats.

We know people who've bought new plastic boats and they envy us and Magic. They've paid twice the price, accepted shorter, slower vessels with cheap equipment and poorer quality, less room below, less stable at sea. Waterline is speed for sailboats and Magic's 43' 11" waterline gives her legs. She's a better value per water-line foot than you'll find anywhere in a new boat or most used ones.

Seeking adventure? Sailing to Europe? Speed on the water, ability to point are what you want. I've sailed Magic from the Chesapeake to Georgia downwind at an average 14 1/2 knots. You get there fast. My wife and I have taken on Swans slightly longer than Magic and beaten them by miles, and that's the norm. We sailed from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to the Dominican Republic and did horizon jobs on a Swan 53.

When you need a motor, its reliable and strong, with a totally refurbished three-bladed folding MaxProp.

We're looking for a sailor who wants to go sailing now, not wait years to buy a new boat. She's ready for the Mediterranean in May or the Caribbean after the boat show, fast, points high, sails easily and for less than $200,000.

"Magic" is a rare breed, she is a C&C 51, designed by the same C&C Design Team that designed the earlier Baltic 51. A combination of C&C quality, an efficient hull design and sail plan, make her a very quick, stable boat. In 2005 the current owners purchased Magic from the original owner. Over the past 10 years, Magic has had significant upgrades including a new Yanmar diesel in 2007, rod rigging in 2005, 4.2kw Entec West Genset in 2008, wind generator in 2007, updated electronics, and recently a new bimini frame capable of holding an array of solar panels, 60A MPPT solar controller already installed. Two new captains chairs in the salon have been added.

This is a sailor's yacht, she is a perfect blend of performance and comfort without compromising on either, perfect for couples cruising. C&C built this yacht with top quality materials, strength, and safety in mind. Magic is hull #2 of only seven built and the only one currently on the market. She has a proven track record for sailing offshore and extended cruising throughout the Caribbean for the past 24 years. Do not miss your opportunity to own this unique yacht.
