Ã? Ã? Ã? ElysiumÃ? has been well maintained and actively sailed by the present owners for nine years. She has been raced in club races but primarily cruised from North Carolina to Maine. The present owners, have essentially lived aboard for the summer cruising Maine from Rockland to Roque Island and customized her for convenience and easy handling. All systems are operational and dependable. She was re-powered in 2016 with a 28 hpÃ? YanmarÃ? diesel, which pushes the boat at 5.5 kts at 2200 rpm, 6+ kts at 2800 rpm.Ã?Â
� � � Under sail, she is easily handled by two people. Though she has a full complement of head sails for racing and long-distance cruising, her 95% self-tacking jib makes short-handed or solo sailing easy. She has single-line, two-point reefing for the main, and all control lines lead to the cockpit. A Doyle Cradle Cover makes furling and covering the main quick and easy. For racing, the owner added dual spinnaker halyards, a telescoping whisker pole that stores up the mast, stacked deck organizers and Garhauer clutches.
Ã? Ã? Ã? Her primary ground tackle is a 35# Manson, easily deployed, weighed and secured without a windlass. Present owner (in his late 70s) says he sets and retrieves it over a dozen times a year without strain or hard effort. She has a well-designed, multi-function, rigid Bimini for shade that incorporates davits for a dinghy, a solar panel, support for radar mast, nav console, storage of PFDs, and hand rails. Ã?Â
Ã? Ã? Ã? This Sabre has numerous improvements to interior accommodations. Corners of the folding dining table have been artfully rounded, opening and fixed portlights replaced, step added in V-berth, storage niche added at nav station, storage shelves added inside instrument compartments. An inspection port has been incorporated in the companionway stairs to easily check the oil level and fuel filters without removing the stairs. All cabin lights have been converted to LED, pilot lights added to electrical panel, and a red LED convenience light added to illuminate it. A 2000 watt inverter provides AC voltage for a coffee maker, toaster, hair dryer and fast charging ports for electronic devices.Ã?Â
