Accommodations
The interior of the Island Packet 38 features a large forward and aft staterooms and a spacious central salon.
Beginning forward is an anchor locker in the bow accessed through the forward head. The forward head compartment has a sink with vanity, shower with wrap-around curtain, Jabsco manual marine toilet, plenty of storage, two opening ports and an opening hatch.
Updated Corian counter and sink, hot and cold pressurized water, shower w/separate sump pump, fiberglass headliner, overhead hatch, opening port and access panel to anchor locker.
Next is the spacious master stateroom with large Pullman berth to starboard and hanging locker and cabinets to port. Custom pillow top mattress (2014) with custom sheets for the ultimate in comfort. Lots of storage under mattress. There are four large drawers under the berth. This stateroom is well ventilated with four opening ports and an overhead hatch and custom enclosed storage cabinets. New (2014) LED lights including reading lights.
Main Salon:
On the forward bulkhead is a double leaf dinette table that folds down for use. Behind it is a storage cabinet. This table serves six. There are settees on both port and starboard w/tons of storage behind and below. On the port side, there are custom storage areas to hold chart books and other navigation publications. Bookshelves are above both settees. Overhead handrails, fiberglass headliner, a varnished teak and holly cabin sole runs throughout. Ventilation is provided by 6 opening ports and a large overhead hatch. New LED lighting throughout.
To starboard is an L-shaped settee that easily converts to a Queen berth and also provides seating for the aft-facing nav station.
To port is a straight settee. There is an incredible amount of storage beneath and behind both settees.
The aft facing nav station is quickly accessible from the cockpit and allows easy communication with the helmsperson.
Located to port immediately aft of the port settee is the aft head, it has an entrance from the salon and the aft stateroom. It contains a Raritan manual marine toilet , y-valve for overboard discharge, updated vanity with custom Corian counter, hot and cold pressurized water, shower w/sump pump, overhead hatch and port.
To port of the companionway is the entrance to the spacious aft stateroom with wide double berth, dressing seat, bureau and cedar-lined hanging locker, two opening ports, and opening hatch.
GalleyA u-shaped galley is located aft of the nav station and at the foot of the companionway. It contains a Princess gimbaled 3 burner propane stove and oven. There is a large top loading ice box chilled by an Adler Barbour Cold Machine. Extra insulation was added to increase efficiency. The freezer compartment makes ice. All counter tops are beautiful custom built Corian with a huge sink and custom Corian sink and stove covers that adds counter space when not is use. Hot and cold pressurized water and a manual water hand pump also.
Separate Sea Gull drinking water system provides great tasting drinking water. Engine heated hot water heater.

CONSTRUCTIONHull is single piece molded hand laid solid fiberglass. The deck is single piece molded hand laid solid fiberglass with resin micro-balloon core and molded contrasting non-skid, bonded and thru-bolted to hull on internal flanges.
