This Coastal is a great boat with a lot of flexibility, from fishing to just enjoying the water on a sunset cruise. There is a raised bridgedeck that gets you up a higher to see clearly. Combined with the swivel helm and companion seats, deep walkaround decks, and big cockpit with in - floor fishboxes, she is an all around economic fishing and cruising vessel.
The vessel is located at Harbortown Marina in Merritt Island, and if you purchase the boat you can keep the slip if you so choose. The owner also offers one month in the slip for free.
Below is a commercial description, and while not everything is exactly the same, since there have been minor modifications, this description should give you a good feel for the boat.
Description from Powerboat Guide:
A versatile express fishing boat with dependable inboard power,
the 280 Coastal was a good-selling boat for Wellcraft during
her production years. Built on a solid fiberglass hull with a relatively
wide 9'11" beam, the chief attribute of the 2800 Coastal (aside
from an affordable price) remains her practical, space-efficient
layout. Two in-deck fish boxes, fresh and raw water washdowns,
Forward, the helm seat is mounted on an above-deck livewell, while the
companion seat pod contains a tackle center with sink. The interior
of the 280 Coastal, with its convertible dinette, enclosed head
with shower, compact galley, and forward V-berths, is larger than
expected considering her roomy cockpit and wide side decks.
Updates in 1990 included restyled deckhouse windows and
upgraded tackle centers. In 1994,the last year of production a
dinette floorplan became standard. Among several engine choices,
twin 260hp inboards cruise the 2800 Coastal in the low 20s and
reach a top speed of about 30 knots.
