About the 46 POST CONVERTIBLE
The original Post 46 was introduced back in 1978 as a stretched version of the popular Post 42. Hull construction is solid fiberglass and her tapered form and low transom deadrise resulted in a boat quick to accelerate, fast over the water with fairly conservative fuel consumption.
Several 2 stateroom floorplans were offered in the Post 46 during her production years, and all are notable for their quality joinery and furnishings. What really distinguishes the 46 from the offerings of other builders is,of course, her sensuous and graceful styling, long a Post trademark.
A well regarded boat throughout the industry in her production years and beyond, used Post 46 models are nearly always in demand on the resale market.
At the height of production Post Yachts built a maximum of 20 boats per year and were always noted for their fit, finish and craftsmanship.
Vessel Walkthrough and AccommodationsEntrance to the salon is through a sliding pocket entry door from the cockpit. As you enter the boat immediately noticeable is that all interior wood is in original satin varnished teak and no evidence of any window leaks, no damp or "boaty" odors. You have stepped into a fine yacht not far removed from her original condition when built in 1985. The interior is professionally decorated with traditional nautical fabric colors comprised of blues, reds, golds and is in impeccable condition.
To port there is an L-shaped sofa that converts to an additional bed if needed, an occasional chair to starboard and an L-shaped dinette.lounge forward to starboard with varnished teak table. Built in cabinetry forward serves as the home for the salon entertainment center as well as some nice storage. To port is a built in teak shelf above the galley cabinets that could also be used as a breakfast bar for 2 by adding a couple of small bar stools. The galley is to port 2 steps down from the salon, separating the galley and sink from the salon but in no way separating whoever is in the galley from the rest of the guests onboard making the arrangement a great one for entertaining guests and still being part of the crowd and conversation. The galley features a full size refrigerator/freezer (2015), stove, oven, microwave, Instant hot water dispenser, garbage disposal, coffeemaker, toaster and generous drawer and cabinet storage.
Moving forward to the companionway past the galley , to the starboard side is the guest stateroom with upper and lower bunks and it's own private ensuite head with vanity, head and stall shower. Lower bunk has access to clothes dryer
The master stateroom is forward in the bow and features an island walkaround queen size bed, hanging lockers, TV, great storage and an ensuite private head with vanity, head and stall shower.
All interior fabrics, carpeting, headliners, teak joinerwork etc. in great condition.
