Vessel Walkthrough
With the Bristol 41.1 Aft Cockpit, you have the traditional good looks of an aft cockpit yacht as well as two separate sleeping cabins with doubles and two heads with showers. The hull is solid fiberglass. The joinery is custom quality. The entire interior is teak and the cabin sole is inch thick teak and holly.
Starting forward is a large V-berth, with great storage for towels, sheets and hanging clothes. It has a private entrance to the forward head/shower.
The main salon is much larger and more open than the Center Cockpit version of the 41.1 and lends itself to entertaining with plenty of walking and sitting room, as well as storage under and behind the settees and in several drawer/locker cabinet units. It features an off-center-line double leaf teak table, "L" shaped port settee and bench style starboard settee. Both settees easily convert to double berths.
The galley features plenty of storage for pots and pans and readily accessible shelves for spices, etc. The three-burner propane stove/oven permits gourmet meal preparation. Refrigeration is Seafrost engine driven and 110V. There are two, deep stainless steel sinks, with both pressure and manual water pumps.
The sit-down Nav station has good chart storage, plenty of desktop working area, and a VHF radio as well as AM/FM radio with CD changer. The breaker panels are also located here. The main nav instruments, including 2 chart plotters with radar, are located in the cockpit where they are most useful to the helmsman and crew.
The aft cabin is to port, with a double berth, clothes drawers and a hanging locker. It has a private entrance to the aft shower/head.
This is not just another pretty face at the boat show, but a true blue water yacht, designed by one of the premier designers. It has the storage and tankage for extended cruising and the smooth motion for which the Hood yachts are famous. The handling is forgiving and the performance is outstanding for a cruising boat. With their centerboards, Bristols are especially suited for the shallow waters of Florida, the Bahamas, or the Chesapeake.

Electronics/ElectricalThe boat's energy system includes a digital amp/volt/amp hour meter, a high output alternator, and isolators for each of the three 4D gel batteries (two house, one engine). It has separate battery switches for the house batteries and the starting battery. All batteries are protected with BlueSea fuses located at the battery posts to comply with the latest ABYC guidelines.

Sails & Rigging Hood roller furling mast (originally a $20k option!). In January 2014, the rig was unstepped, stripped down, primed, and repainted with Awlgrip Matterhorn white. All fasteners were bedded with Tef-gel. All of the chainplates as well as the mast step were replaced with new. The mast top roller bearings were renewed. All standing and running rigging was examined and replaced as necessary. The mast partners were sealed with Spartite.
With the Hood mast and the Furlex 3000 roller furling system (installed 2006) on the headstay, the vessel has been optimized for cruising. The sail inventory includes 2 mainsails, a 135% genoa and a 100% jib, and a cruising spinnaker with sock.
Primary winches are oversized self-tailing Lewmar 55s.
The main traveler is mid-boom, located over the companionway, and is polished stainless.

Deck & Hull The hull and deck are hand laid solid fiberglass. The deck is balsa cored for additional strength and stiffening. The keel configuration is a long keel with interior centerboard. The three bladed-fixed prop is protected in an aperture. The rudder is a balanced semi-skeg.
Optional features include extra height teak toe rails and a teak rub-rail with polished stainless steel striker. The stemhead fittings and all chocks are custom castings and highly polished. There are two teak dorade boxes with polished stainless steel dorades and polished stainless steel guards.
Lifelines are double and have opening gates both port and starboard.
Whether cruising on a beam reach or sailing close hauled, the large cockpit offers safety, comfort and protection from the elements. High coamings make for a nice deep cockpit with comfortable backrest (unlike the Center Cockpit version, which has short backrests). The flat, teak capped, wide coaming tops offer extra seating and sure footing. Traveling fore and aft is safe and easy with the wide side decks, high bulwarks, tall stanchions and coach roof mounted handrails. The flat, open bow offers generous room for deploying the anchor, sun bathing or changing the sails. The bimini has screens and is tall enough to permit easy standing as well as ingress/egress for the cockpit.
