1985 OCEAN ALEXANDER 38' TRAWLER

The Famous Ed Monk Two-Cabin Design

The Ocean Alexander 38 is a handsome, trawler-style cruiser made notable in the mid-1980s for her quality construction.  She was built using the Ed Monk Two-Cabin Design on a solid fiberglass, semi-displacement hull with hard aft chines and a shallow keel for directional stability.  If you've been waiting for the right Ocean Alexander to come onto the market, this is it!! She's had remarkable care.  “ODYSSEY” is a fine example of Ed Monk, Jr.'s design of contemporary trawler-style cruisers. The 38 Double Cabin sports traditional trawler lines yet the exterior is relatively free of teak. However, what the exterior lacks in teak, the interior basks in Burmese teak woodwork. As it is in most Asian yachts, the teak joinery is very well crafted.

“ODYSSEY” is a perfect example of a very well cared for Ocean Alexander 38. You will find no disappointments and plenty of recent up grades that set this one a part from the rest. Accommodations include sleeping for 6 in two separate staterooms. The master stateroom aft has a walk-a-round queen with the shower separate from the head. The main salon offers extra room for all with the galley down configuration. By the galley being down more galley space is offered as well as opening up the salon. Forward of the galley is the guest stateroom that offers plenty of space for two as well as a second head. The exterior of the boat is also a huge plus for the Northwest. Outside, raised bulwarks provide protection for the walk around decks that make moving around easy, and the flybridge has seating for four. There’s space on the aft cabin roof for a dinghy, and a radar mast and swim platform. The flybridge offers plenty of seating for all guests as well as great visibility from the helm. Another plus for boarding is the transom door. The windows are also something to note as well, they are all aluminum framed and all have been re-embedded.

Twin Ford Lehman 135's provide economical cruising (3 gph at 7 - 7-1/2 knots).

Very desirable and well maintained Ocean Alexander twin diesel trawler. Known for their top of the line construction as well as beautiful teak interiors this OA 38 is no exception. Longtime owner (11 years) getting out of boating because of health so it is time to sell. She has done the Great Loop, cruised all the Fresh Water of the Great Lakes extensively, St Lawrence Seaway.  She is turnkey ready for her next owner. Have a look at her pictures and specifications. and give me a call to see this very well equipped fine example of the Ocean 38 Aft cabin trawler.   A real find in today's market for volume and quality at a reasonable price.  Vessel located in Michigan.
