The Pearson 36-2 has maintained her popularity over the years for size and accommodations. Pearson has always had a reputation for above-average production boat with good sailing characteristics, and a great value. "Free To Be"  has been well maintained over the years. The Pearson 36-2 is a spacious performance cruiser with beautiful lines and great handling characteristics. Her is PHRF rating is 138. With her shoal draft keel (the centerboard has been removed) will provide good performance in varying wind and sea conditions. Bill Shaw designed this vessel with a combination of features that meets the needs of both the Captain and the crew. Forward and aft are private staterooms with 6?6? long and proportionally wide berths. The two staterooms are separated by the main salon that can seat six while not impeding access to the forward cabin. Throughout the boat you will find numerous out of sight stowage compartments for clothing, equipment, provisions and bedding. The galley is integrated into the interior accommodations and keeps the chef involved in the crew. The aft head is situated so not to disturb those who may have turned in for the night. The engine can be accessed on three sides, making maintenance a joy. Her cockpit is a spacious 7' 6 in length, is uncluttered and comfortable with curved seating surfaces.
