The Californian 42 features a semi-displacement design, a prominent bow and a long keel creating a well tracking hull. ââ?¬Å?Shearwaterââ?¬ï¿½ is a traditional trawler-style yacht design with a fantastic walk-around side decks, incredible deck space and an interior layout that feels roomy and bright. The Californian 42 Trawler is built to very high standards in the U.S. The boat is very much offshore capable, as well as extended transits capable, with 400-gallon fuel capacity and substantial freshwater capacity.

Last September, ââ?¬Å?Shearwaterââ?¬ï¿½, completed a 3,000 mile Great Loop voyage, from Annapolis MD to Georgian Bay on Northern Lake Huron and back to Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario. Like many of the Californian 42 Trawlers, ââ?¬Å?Shearwaterââ?¬ï¿½ came to the East Coast on its own bottom, via the Panama Canal. Maintenance and upgrades have been performed by ââ?¬Å?Shearwatersââ?¬ï¿½ licensed captains/owners.
