Hull
Ã? Ã? Ã? Ã? Pelagic was constructed with hand layup process with alternating layers of fiberglass mat and woven roving for her hull. The ballast is lead, internally cast. The centerboard is molded fiberglass and not integral to the ships ballast. The centerboard too is secured by a bronze pin through a fiberglass pipe. The centerboard is deployed/retrieved with a stainless-steel twisted wire that is controlled with a Merriman deck-mounted winch on the coach-roof.
