Detailed Description of this Vessel
The Gulfstar Sailmaster 39 is an aft cockpit sailboat with entry to the main salon down five easy steps. A complete Nav station is situated on the starboard side just below the companionway. The work area extends almost from side to side of the vessel. On the port side is a large tool storage cabinet. The saloon has large eye level windows extending the full length of the cabin which gives a light and airy appearance down below. There are permanent custom Lexan shaded panels over the windows to keep the bright sunlight to a minimum. Custom drapes accent the windows. The port side settee is L shaped and opens into a double berth. The starboard settee also opens into another double berth. Between settees is an oversized custom dining table that will easily seat 6-7 people. The base of the table is a double ended custom storage cabinet. Mounted behind the starboard settee, is a 17ââ¬ï¿½flat-screen LG TV and JVC DVD player. Illuminated pictures, custom lamps and a half-hull model give this area a warm homey appearance. Step down one easy step and you are in the L shaped galley. A half partition separates the galley from the saloon. The galley features large SS sink, a pot/pan storage area, several sliding door cabinets, two burner stove w/oven, large refrigerated storage box and a custom made 5 ft high by 2.5 ft cupboard next to the mast. Part of the floor is a lift-up 4 sq ft hinged floor panel giving access to a substantial dry storage cabinet below. The head is something special. It has a new Sealand Vacu-flush toilet system which is a pleasure to operate. Simply step on the foot petal and swish ââ¬Åitââ¬â¢s goneââ¬ï¿½. There is a large separate stand up shower with a seat and shelving which makes wet storage easy. Behind this shelf is an easy access door to all of the components of the Vacu-flush system for maintenance. There is a holding tank level indicator and indicator lights giving the status of the system. There is a good sized vanity with round sink, medicine cabinet and large oval mirror. There is an opening SS port in the head along with ventilation from the deck mounted cowl vent. The master stateroom features an oversized V Berth with a 6ââ¬ï¿½ foam mattress with custom cabinets forward on both port and starboard sides. There is also a hanging closet, three drawers and several other spaces to store gear. The huge roof hatch gives abundant air flow on those hot nights at anchor. Ahead of the V berth is an access door to the anchor locker and base of the Ideal windless. Topsides, in the cockpit is a pedestal mounted wheel, up-to-date instrumentation, full standing height bimini and dodger, remote VHF radio speakers, stereo speakers, shower and teak cockpit table. The custom built aluminum radar arch is quite substantial. It carries the radar, Wind Generator, solar panel, TV antennae, and air horn. Attached to this arch is a removable set of davits with hoists which make hoisting the hard bottom dingy an easy task. There is also an outboard motor hoist on the arch. The bow of the boat has a substantial bow pulpit which handles both a Bruce and CQR anchor. The ground tackle is easily handled by a vertical windless with a chain access into the chain locker below. An anchor wash down system completes the job. The mast has steps to the top which makes going aloft a snap. In rough seas, the custom aluminum mast pulpits next to the mast make work safer. The full batten main sail is housed in a ââ¬ÅMack Stack Packââ¬ï¿½ with lazy jacks making lowering the sail a breeze. An easily closed zipper on the top closes the stack pack to protect the sail.
