The Gulfstar 50 is one of Lazzara's best designs, named by Cruising World as one of the Top 40 All-Time Best Sailboats, with the feeling of a luxury home, and proven offshore capabilities. Her protected center cockpit provides shelter in rough water, and her ketch rig allows her sailplan to be easily handled by a short-handed crew. The trunk cabin is low profile for a center cockpit, but does not sacrifice headroom below. Maverick has a very modern look while retaining the classic teak touches and brightwork, and is a top-shelf example of an eminently capable world cruiser. she was extensively refitted/upgraded in 2017 for an around the world trip, now available at a fraction of the upgrade cost. The interior is handcrafted, rich, dark teak and the hull is extremely solid glass. This vessel has a Perkins  85hp (delivering 9+ knots) and the legendary, ultra-reliable Northern Lights 5kw generator.
