"Distant Drum" is a world cruiser. In her lifetime, she has sailed through the Panama Canal twice, completed six trips to the Bahamas, five trips to New England and Maine, been lived aboard for two years and has been a wonderful family cruising boat for her current owners for over twenty years. The Gulfstar 50 is a tried-and-true classic Lazarra design. Over 170 were built between the years of 1975 and 1980, and many of them are still around and are highly sought-after. The Gulfstar craftsmanship was superior to other vessels of the time, which is evident in the interior woodwork, the layout, and the thickness and sturdiness of the hull.
