Sleeps 1 in quarter berth, 1 in pilot berth, 2 on settee and 1 in forward berth.

At the bow is chain storage followed by a berth to port and storage to starboard. There is an overhead hatch in this area. Next aft to port is a pilot berth. There is a folding table in the center and a fold-out berth for two/settee to starboard. Again back to port is the galley area including a propane 2-burner stove with oven and a wood-burning stove to starboard with storage behind. After the galley area is storage to port, the engine area and the quarter berth to starboard. All areas inside this vessel from stem-to-stern and port-to-starboard are accessible and there is storage under every conceivable area!

Hull
The hull is hand-laminated using 7-1/2 oz. cloth, 1-1/2 oz. mat and 24 oz. woven roving - solid fiberglass - no core material. The roving build-up is increased below the water line, in the bow, on the transom and in the area of the chain plate. The deck has fewer layers of glass but is ply core-sandwiched to provide stiffness.

Mandy's bottom was painted and her hull sides were refinished with fresh LP at the Driscoll Boatyard in San Diego in December, 2002.

Completed in 1981, Mandy is, as are most all of the BCC's, a Lyle Hess-designed Sam L. Morse-built boat. Then Sam Morse found Don Girod, a master carpenter/boat builder. Sam Morse selected Don to complete his first fiberglass hull off the new mold because he knew Don's finished product would do justice to the new concept.
