Chris Craft is one of the oldest pleasure boat ship builders that still exist today. Back in the early 70’s the quality of Chris Craft boats surpassed both Bertram and Hatteras. There is not one soft spot anywhere on any hatch and deck on the entire boat. The fiberglass dashboard is probably stronger than a bayliner hull that is made today.

The structural integrity and craftsman ship that went into building this boat is so beyond the standards of anything that is built today it’s not even a comparison. No Boating company could ever produce this kind of quality today and sell it for a profit and stay in business. This boat went for almost 80k new in 1972, over 500k in today’s dollars.

The structural integrity of this boat is beyond comprehension and description in words. The one piece hull is made up of layer upon layer of hand laid heavy thick fiberglass and resin and is probably 3 times stronger than anything you can find today and twice as thick as any hull that has been made in the last 30 years. Looking inside the hull you see results of and the definition of true craftsmanship and the pride that went into building this boat. Something you could never find today at any price. The strength of this hull provides a serious extra measure of safetyin the event you encounter any floating debris like a telephone pole or tree. The keel of this boat could probably withstand a major impact that would crack the hull and sink most other boats.

The deep v hull will get you home in very rough waters. The substantial keel adds additional structural integrity and makes this a very stable boat that offers good protection to the running gear as well.

ACCOMODATIONS

The 35' Commander enjoyed a long production run. She has a two stateroom down and galley-up interior plus a lower helm station. The fold down couch turns into a queen size bed. She has a huge cockpit and is rigged to fish or just cruise. Large sliding doors (with separate screened in slider) make access to the salon easy and provides a nice flow-through feel. She has a full head with a stall shower and updated head system. The forward stateroom is large enough to sleep 2 comfortly with plenty of built in draws and locker storage. The additional stateroom provides enough extra sleeping space for two and additional storage. She has wide side decks for easy access to the bow for fishing or anchoring with sturdy safety rails and hand rails. Her large flybridge has plenty of room and gives great visibility. Engine access is mid-ship and provides easy maintenance through large floor hatches and by raising the mid-ship staircase.
