The boat was COMPLETELY rewired in 2012, all primary and distribution wiring was removed and replaced, new switch panels, new lights, pumps, etc.

Freshwater cooled Yanmar 3GM30 turns a three blade fixed propellor on a 1" shaft.  The engine is 1984 by serial # and was purchased by the owner in 1995 and he had it completely rebuilt by Spencer Rybovitch at that time and then put it in another boat that was never used.  He had the yard run the engine for app one hour every six months.  The boat was then launched and the engine used for three seasons prior to it being installed in this boat.  Total hours are app 250.

Solid fiberglass hull with original white gel-coat in excellent condition.  The bottom was hard sanded as part of the 2012 re-fit and is now finished with ablative paint and is quite fair.

Fiberglass decks with plywood coring and teak overlay all in exc. condition.  Again as part of the 2012 re-fit the decks were re-fastened and any areas where the Thiokol (caulking) had broken down the seams were reefed out and re-caulked.  The house and cockpit were sanded down and Awlgripped in 2012 as well and all brightwork was stripped and re-finished with several coats of spar varnish.

Large cockpit for 31' (7'-9") with sail lockers P&S, wide side decks with teak overlay.  Stainless steel single bow and stern rail and stainless stanchions with single lifeline P&S.

This Cheoy Lee Offshore 31 enjoyed an extensive re-fit in 2012 exceeding $60,000, making her far better than any other sistership available on the market today, and arguably better than any other Cheoy Lee Offshore 31 out there.  For convenience the major items are outlined below:

This re-fit, as one can see, was extensive and cost far more than the asking price of the boat, let alone her basic aquisition cost; consequently, she is offered at a VERY attractive price. This office has some knowledge of her recent history and bleieves the waste system to have been installed in app 2010.

The in commission photos were taken winter of 2012/2013 in Florida.  The owner then had the boat trucked to his summer home and the higher resolution photos of the boat were taken recently (late 2013) in a shed.

With a low wetted surface, long and stable lateral plane, she is fast and easy to handle with maximum rudder control on all points of sailing. She has an easy "big-boat" motion and is quite dry in a chop.

The side decks are wide, and like the foredeck, clear of obstacles to aid in sail handling...Ketch rigged, the OFFSHORE-31 is excellent for offshore cruising.
