Here is a project boat for those who are interested in heading for the coast. "Meander" is a twin keel pocket cruiser with iron ballast, designed by Denys Rayner. The boat, although small, is capable of handling fairly rough waters. The twin keel design is known for being seaworthy. This design allows the boat to be grounded and dried out for repair and maintenance or used for mooring in shallow tidal waters. Construction is of solid glass for the hull and a balsa cored deck. "Meander" was purchased by her current owner as a project boat. She had sat for seven years under a tree in the former owner's yard. The new owner cleaned out leaves and debris and removed the old rotted headliner. He has now realized that he does not have the time for a project and would like to move on. The boat sits on a custom trailer. The sails are virtually new and some have never been out of the bags. We think the sails were made in the late 90's.
