Accommodations/Layout
The interior of the Pilot 35 is divided into two spacious cabins; the galley is aft, completely equipped, highly functional. Flush topped icebox provides the navigator with clean working space; chart locker above has extra room for navigation tools.
Below decks the Pilot 35 is spacious and bright: there's full headroom and abundant stowage space. The cabin interior is completely finished in rich, warm Philippine mahogany. The cabin soles are teak with holly inlay. There is a V-Berth forward, 2 settees and 2 pull-outs, to sleep 6. There are dark green, removable & washable, Sunbrella covers for all bunks.
The main cabin has two large port-lights on each side aft; all port-lights are shatterproof glass set in bronze. Cabin sole runs straight through into forward cabin.
The entire cabin interior has a hand-rubbed varnished finish. Cabin sides have Philippine mahogany liners with grab-rail at lower edge around cabin. Mahogany bulkhead mounted table with support leg. Storage compartments with sliding doors, chart locker, circuit breaker switch panel. Companionway ladder and bulkhead remove easily for engine maintenance.
FORWARD CABIN: Two berths with storage lockers underneath. Convenient cushioned seat between bunks. Forepeak has storage space for anchor rope and other gear; forward hatch with frosted Plexiglas top.
HEAD: Equipped with large locker, toilet, sink, mirror and medicine cabinet. Pressure hot and cold water. Hand shower. Floor drain leads to an electric sump pump.
MAIN CABIN: The main cabin has two pilot berths with drawers underneath and two settees that pull out to double berths also with drawers under. Shelves (incl. a bookshelf) are provided over pilot berths for storage. A door separates the forward cabin from main cabin. A hanging locker with rod and shelf is located opposite the head. Philippine mahogany sheathing behind bunks and under decks. Mahogany framed screens for the companionway are stored under the deck in the forward cabin. A convenient carry-around mahogany box of tools is stored under the bookshelf.
GALLEY: Galley is equipped with a three-burner propane stove/oven in stainless lined compartment. Stove cover provided to hide stove and gain counter space. Icebox with 7 1/2 cubic-foot capacity (holds up to 200 lb of ice. 100 lb lasts 4-6 days) is stainless steel lined, has teak grate and shelf for dry cold storage. Galley counter area of 17 square feet is covered with tan Formica, trimmed with teak. Removable garbage pail is installed under companionway step. Ample dish lockers with sliding doors are provided outboard of icebox. Food storage lockers are located outboard of stove and sink. Ice box drains to sump tank. Pilot 35 galley reflects careful planning. Formica covered counter space is easy to clean, stainless steel sink has hot and cold pressure water tap with back up hand pump.

Electrical Deck & HullThe Pilot 35's cockpit is well planned for ocean racing or comfortable cruising. The switch panel and engine controls are at the helmsman's fingertips. The cockpit seats are set at a level that provides excellent visibility over the cabin top. In addition, the complete instrument panel has been recessed into the forward end of the cockpit.
A non-skid pattern is molded into deck and cockpit floor surfaces to assure safe footing. Recessed deck scuppers trap loose dirt and are easy to keep clean. Ample use of teak trim on deck- toe rails, hand rails, cockpit coaming, etc.- give the boat a warm, finished look.
Large sunken cockpit has bridge deck and two spacious sail lockers. Cockpit seats are fiberglass with rubber gaskets and drains. Four cockpit cushions give full coverage of all seating surfaces. Cockpit sole has screened scuppers in forward end. Switch panel and engine controls are located conveniently for helmsman, and a complete instrument panel is recessed into forward end of the cockpit well.
Deck fittings include polished stainless steel stem-head fitting with integral bow chocks. Deck pipe for rode storage below. Two bow cleats, two stern chocks and cleats. Running lights. Jib sheet deck blocks for working jib, adjustable main sheet slide and track; main sheet leads through swivel block to No. 2 winch on cabin top. No. 5 Two-Speed Genoa winches mounted on Hinckley-type winch blocks with winch handle storage. Stainless steel Genoa tracks with two Genoa track slides mounted on each track. Adjustable main sheet slide and track at aft end of cockpit; main sheet leads through swivel block to No. 2 winch on cabin top.
Sails & RiggingMechanicalFranziska is powered by a Yanmar 3YM30-A1 28 hp diesel and transmission both installed NEW in 2016. All gear associated with the running of the new engine was also installed new at the time of the engine. This includes but is not limited to: intake hoses and sea cock, water lift muffler, exhaust hoses, shaft and flex hose coupler. Power for the engine is transferred to a 1" stainless steel shaft w/ bronze packing gland to a fixed 3 blade bronze prop.
Deck Equipment - Single Piped stainless bow rail, single lifelines with deck mounted stanchions and ¼Ã¢â?¬ï¿½ Dacron lines configured at mid-level.
