Accommodations
"Ariadne" has a very different cabin layout from all other Pilots. This includes a custom built navigation table, seat and electronics installation, additional main cabin storage, and custom lockers in the v-berth cabin.
Starting in the forward cabin, there is a traditional v-berth to port. With the filler cushion, this becomes a double berth. To starboard is a custom built cabinet with lockers and drawers. There is an overhead hatch with a translucent top for extra light in the cabin, and two fixed ports. A door closes the cabin from the passageway, and there is a door for direct entry into the head.
The head is aft to port, and this includes a vanity sink and shower. The marine toilet is a Raritan manual head, and there is a 10 gallon holding tank with overboard discharge capability. Plumbing fixtures include a telephone style wand shower. There is a screened opening port and a solar vent for good ventilation. Two doors provide access to the head from the main cabin and from the forward stateroom. To starboard are two generous hanging lockers.
The main cabin was originally a standard six berth Pilot layout. In 1993 Hinckley modified the starboard side, removing the pilot berth and building in additional lockers and cabinets. In the aft most section, a custom, outboard facing, navigation table was built, with a swing out stool underneath. This was done in such a way that an extension for the settee can be installed, allowing for a full single berth.
The port side has a pilot berth over the settee, which itself slides inboard to form a single berth. There are generous storage drawers under the pilot berth, and lockers under the settee. A dining table folds down from the bulkhead on the port side of the cabin.
The galley in aft and surrounds the companionway. A three burner Force 10 CNG Stove is to port, and a counter top matching stove cover allows extra counter space. A stainless steel sink is aft, and a new faucet is for hot and cold pressure water. To starboard is a large ice box, served by Seafrost Refrigeration that is powered by the 12 volt ships electrical system. There are varnished glass/ cup/towel racks, storage lockers of food, dishes and cutlery, and a counter top storage bin for storage outboard of the sink.
