Accommodations
Exquisite condition below with full varnished mahogany with a varnished teak and holly sole. Six opening ports and four large fixed ports along with two large hatches and two bronze dorades provide abundant natural light and ventilation. All of the opening ports and hatches have screens. Artificial lights via reading lamps at each berth and settee with additional dome style overhead lamps to provide lighting in the galley area. These boats have good headroom for more traditionally lined boats, as follows: Galley 6'2", Salon 6'4" with 6'1" forward.
Starting forward is the fwd. cabin with a 6'6" V-berth below which there is storage in two drawers and two drop face lockers. There is also storage on a full length shelf over the berth. Aft and to starboard is a hanging locker and a small bureau with four drawers.
Continuing aft to port is the enclosed head with manual W.C., Corian sink & vanity with H&C pressure water and storage in two drawers and three large lockers. As part of the '04/'05 refit, the sole of the head was redone to provide drainage to the head so as to incorporate an ensuite shower. A manual W.C. plumbed to a Lectrasan unit (new '05) and also, via a Y-valve to a small holding tank for zero discharge areas. Opposite the head is a second hanging locker and bureau with drawers.
Next aft is the main cabin featuring 6'4" settee berths P&S. The port berth pulls out for more comfortable sleeping when necessary and there is a pilot berth above each settee. There are three drawers in the seat back for the settee berths and three drawers to starboard as well as three drop face lockers. At the foot of the port berth there is a small three drawer bureau and additional locker outboard. On C/L is a varnished drop leaf table that also provides some storage.
Next aft is the galley which is split P&S. To starboard is a large well insulated, stainless steel lined ice box, just aft of which is a wet locker. The top of the ice box doubles nicely as a nav. station. To port is the balance of the galley including a three burner, gimballed propane stove, single basin sink with pressure H&C water and good counter space and storage. All of the galley counter tops and plumbing fixtures were new in '05 and the counter tops are Corian.
The yacht is fitted out as original including a Luke soapstone fireplace which does a wonderful job providing warmth on season extending cruises or to take the chill off on a foggy morning.

AdditionalThis yacht has received an incredible re-fit:
every system, hose, pump, wire, has been replaced, the entire exterior (except for the masts) have been re-finished, the entire interior has been varnished or painted as appropriate, (don't forget the engine replacement by the way). About the only equipment that has not been replaced is the windlass and winches. BLACK PEARL is by far the most stunning Alden Challenger we have seen,
on or off the market, it is truly one of those yachts that has to be inspected to understand her remarkable value.
