The Hunter 34 was introduced in late 1982 as a fast cruising vessel and more than 800 were sold over the next three years. Hunter’s goal was to produce an entry-level boat that was fun to sail and offered maximum room at a value price. The 1985 and older models benefitted from updates such as increased ballast, high performance rudder, and a 22 hp Yanmar 3GMF fresh water-cooled diesel, that improved quality and maintenance over earlier boats.


DISTANT DREAMER is a 1985 shoal-draft example that has enjoyed numerous updates and improvements. She is well-equipped and offers exceptional performance under sail and ease of sail handling. She is in lovely condition and due to her owner’s change of plans, is now offered for sale. DISTANT DREAMER would be a comfortable cruising boat and a fast, fun club racing boat, especially in light air.
