Introduction
This traditional layout includes two large private staterooms with a V-berth forward and a double quarter berth aft. The head is to port between the main saloon and V-berth with access from both compartments. The main saloon is spacious due to the 12-1/2� beam. The L-shaped settee to port and a straight settee to starboard are tastefully done in ivory ultra-suede. There is a bulkhead-mounted teak dining table with ample storage which folds out to serve one or both settees.

Aft of the dinette is the U-shaped galley, and opposite the galley is the nav station with a generous-sized table and swing-out seat. The V-berth has three-inch ââ?¬Ë?memory foamââ?¬â?¢ over three-inch standard foam, and the aft cabin has four-inch latex foam for the bedding. Both cabins have custom teak shelves to increase storage. There are four hanging lockers, all cedar-lined. The sole is teak and holly.

Deck
A solar panel arch using 1-5/8� diameter tubing was designed to also integrate the radar dome, spreader lights, aft running light, Tri-Lens radar reflector, back-up VHF antenna, GPS antenna, Davis anchor light and outboard motor hoist.

Galley
This U-shaped layout is very functional at the dock or underway with excellent storage and access. There is a custom teak over-counter storage locker forward of the cockpit bulkhead. A custom teak flip-up counter extension adds work space which can be used from the swing-out nav station seat. A Delta pull-out faucet/sprayer operates over the double stainless steel sink with under sink storage. There is convenient trash disposal from galley into trash bin in lazarette.

Remarks
Serendipity was refit, equipped and completed a 1-1/2 year, 5000-mile cruise to Mexico and back in 2003 to 2005. Gary Mull�s Freedom 36/38 was a wonderful sailing platform for a cruising couple to go in style, comfort and safety.

She has several significant upgrades to the original equipment list. The 27-hp 3GM30 Yanmar diesel engine was replaced in 1997 with a 47-hp 3JH2TBE Yanmar turbo diesel. The engine was coupled to a three-blade feathering Max Prop propeller. A Lewmar 44 self-tailing electric halyard winch was added in 2003 to not only heft the 500-sq. ft. main sail, but also to make easy trips up the mast for periodic inspections and maintenance. The swim platform which became a standard item in 1989 was added with all seams glassed and gel-coated. It is difficult to distinguish Serendipity from an original factory 38!

She spent most of her life about ten miles away from the Freedom factory in Rhode Island where the previous owner took great pains to keep the boat current, adding custom teak shelves and the port settee teak doors from the 38 done by one of the factory carpenters. Serendipity is up to date, clean and ready to make your cruising dream come true.
