Accommodations & Layout
This Catalina 42 features a large cockpit with transom gate for access to swim step and ladder. Centerline companionway is very roomy with large sliding hatch in a turtle. Down steps to large, well-laid out saloon with centerline bench and table and dinette with L-shaped settee to port. Very convenient access in and out of this dinette area from three directions. This three-stateroom model has the galley to starboard opposite the dinette, with lots of counters and storage space. Forward is the master stateroom with large Pullman double on port side and two hanging lockers and built-in bench opposite. This berth is well aft of other V-berth configurations and provides a lot more comfort and a better motion underway. The entire forepeak area is a large, private head with a large stall shower. All the way aft on the starboard side is a guest head/shower which is easily accessed from the cockpit. There are two quarter cabins with room to stand or sit and change clothes with the door shut and surprisingly large berths accommodating two people. The recent upholstery throughout the interior gives the vessel an ââ?¬Å?as newââ?¬ï¿½ appearance. 6'6" headroom.
