Accommodations
The Freedom 40 has 13.5' beam which offers a very generous interior layout. Forward is a cabin with V-berth and filler, a large hanging locker and enclosed cabinets overhead running port and starboard along each berth. There are lockers below the V-berth along with cabinets in the aft port corner and a vanity with sink. Good ventilaton with two SS opening ports and an overhead hatch.
Aft of the main bulkhead is the main salon with a large L-shaped settee to port and straight settee to starboard with teal ultra-suede upholstery. The port settee pulls out to become a double berth. the dining table is bulkhead mounted on a large bookcase. There are storage lockers and bookshelves over each berth along with two storage lockers under the starboard berth.
The navigation station is at the aft end of the starboard berth with the 12V and 110V panels and great book space for manuals, etc.
Aft of the L-settee to port is a huge U-shaped galley.
The aft cabin has a berth that is thwarthsip and is longer and wider than berths in most 50' boats. It is wonderful. The cabin has a hanging locker and storage lockers with three opening ports and a small overhead hatch.
On the starboard side opposite the galley is the head with separate shower stall. There is plenty of room in this head.
The interior finish throughout is varnished cherry with a varnished teak and holly cabin sole. There are seven SS opening ports in the main salon with screens, two opening hatches and two skylights plus a solar panel. The light and ventilation is fabulous in the Freedom 40.
Galley
The U-shaped galley has a double SS sink offering H&C pressure water, a Seagull water purifier spigot and a manual fresh water spigot. The refrig is very large w/Seafrost holding plate system, two top load lids and a lower "ice cream" door. The stove is a three burner Force 10 propane with broiler, extra aluminum propane tank and good storage lockers outboard of the counter.

Comments
"THISTLE" is a one owner boat that has never left the state of Maine and is stored six to seven months each year. This is a boat that is extremely easy to handle with her electric halyard winch and self-tending blade jib there is no need to be cranking winches. What a fantastic boat to go to the Bahamas in with her 5/2" draft and great living space with wonderful ventilation throughout. You really should see "THISTLE". By the way she is a great sailing boat and fast too!! Name is reserved.
"Thistle" was surveyed on October 15, 2002 by a highly qualified marine surveyor. There are NO surprises with this boat.
