Accommodations
6' 3" headroom throughout, sleeps 6. Interior professionally redecorated.
The fwd cabin offers a 6'3" long v-berth with filler piece. An anchor locker at the forepeak has a new custom flip-up door to hide chain and rode. Storage is in cubbies under the v-berth. The holding tank is also under the v-berth. 12V overhead lights and a screened overhead opening hatch with new Lexan insert provide light and ventilation. A bi-fold door with louvers closes to provide privacy to this cabin.
Swing this bi-fold door aft to enclose just the toilet and sink for a fully enclosed head. Or close the fwd cabin door and a second bifold door aft for privacy from the main salon to create a large athwartship head. The head includes a shower curtain and stainless braided, wall-mounted showerhead. New screened opening ports to port and stbd let in fresh air and light. Storage to stbd is on a fiddled shelf, behind a hullside slider cabinet, and in a flip-down cubby behind the new ceramic manual MSD. Additional storage is in a hanging locker and 2 drawers to port.
Headroom in the main salon is 6'3". The cabin sole is FRP with teak & holly bilge covers, which are in very nice condition because of the new coordinating rugs protecting them. Two teak handrails run the length of the cabin to port and stbd for safety when negotiating the cabin underway. A straight settee to port is 6' long, with recessed storage compartment below and new custom cabinets above. A U-shaped dinette to stbd converts to a 6' double berth when the pedestal table is lowered. The water tank is stored under this. Additional storage is behind a fiddled shelf along the hullside. A frame mounted to the forward bulkhead displays an artistic line-drawing of the boat. Remove the plexi-glas slider to reveal a new wall mounted thin screen TV/DVD player. New curtains dress the rebedded fixed ports, and additional light and air pours through two new screened opening ports to port and stbd and a new overhead hatch above the dinette table.
The nav station is to stbd of the companionway. Flip up the hinged chart table to reveal chart storage below. Additional storage is in 2 drawers below, and in a bookshelf/cubby above.
Aft to stbd is the 6'7" long quarter berth. Storage here is along a hullside fiddled shelf. There is also a panel inboard of the berth for easy access to the back of the engine and the fuel tank. A unique new custom screened port opens into the cockpit, letting light and air into this area, which is usually much darker on other O'Day 30's.
The galley is to port of the companionway. L-shaped with a stainless single basin sink and new faucet, the counter top extends under the companionway for more work space when the ladder is removed. A foot pump powers a manual salt water faucet at the sink, handy for conserving water and electricity while cruising. A very clean 2-burner alcohol stove and oven hide below a custom wood cutting board that doubles as a serving tray when removed. The stove is powered by a 3 gallon alcohol tank, secured in the hanging locker. Dish storage and slider cabinet storage is outboard above the counter, with additional storage behind a fiddle that runs athwartship behind the counter. There is a cabinet below the sink.
Up the companionway ladder is the large cockpit. 6'7" long settees to port and stbd curve around the steering wheel for easier maneuvering to and from the helm. Storage is in a deep sail locker under the port settee, which also contains the new hot water heater. Shallower storage below the stbd cockpit settee is appropriate for winch handles and small lines.
