38' United Ocean 38 Double Cabin Trawlers

Vessel was used as a live aboard in Punta Gorda for a number of seasons. One morning (late spring 2021) the seller woke up and fresh water had come into the engine room and flooded the engine. (Water tank issue - He does not know) The water was pumped out, issue did not come back. The boat was moved to a storage yard and has been in storage all summer and most of the fall (2021). At this point the engine does not appear seized.� � 

After a good walk thru, the boats bottom does appear very good, however it would be senseless not to put another coat or two of bottom paint on before launching it.

Under foot the boat appears to be very solid everywhere, and from what I have picked up in research these boats should also be made with solid fiberglass hulls. There are a lot of pluses to this project boat.� (Notice the bow thruster - Not many of them on an older Trawler - That's� about a $20k upgrade)� 

The boat is a mess inside, the seller is older and it was to hot for him to leave it any other way. There is a lot of stuff to throw out and clean up. Once that is completed it should look like and average to above average boat (for it's age and type).� 

The engine room is the real issue and probably the main factor in you buying decision� and offer. Batteries are rusted over, I am sure the inverter and generator are shot - at least it's wired for a generator. Will need some new wiring and I would pull that Ford Lehman and have it fully rebuilt. - But the end result would be that you could have the nicest engine room of any 80's Trawler on the planet. And you have the opportunity to make it whatever you what it to be.� 

This is not a turn key boat. I know it, the seller knows it. And I do not want to waste a lot of time selling it. Get me a legitimate offer I can write up and I will do what I can. - Daryl�
